When a guys friends teases him around the girl he likes...?

Today I was sitting very near to my crush (who I think likes me back - but I'm not totally sure) and a group of his friends. We've never spoken to each other and hardly know each other, but we've had heaps of moments together of prolonged eye contact etc but neither of us have made a move

Half way through their conversation, one of his friends pointed in my direction and was like "Hey Tom, is that your girl?", and then another one of his friends was like "Yeah, is that your girl?"

My crush responded "Nah, that's not my girl"

I tried to act like I didn't hear/notice anything

GUYS, would you say that just to not feel embarrassed, even if you did like the girl? why would he say this? I honestly think he has a bit of a crush on me too. or maybe does he not like me?

my other question is, how do I know what his friends think of me? as in, would they tease him if they didn't think the girl was good looking enough for him? why would they tease him? is it because he hasn't made a move yet?

so hard to figure him out!

Also, why actually do guys tease their friend about his crush?

just to make fun of him, or to help him out and expose his interest to the girl to try and get them to go out?

I would definitely respond like he did in front of such mother f***ers. The mother f***ers would no longer be my friends after that. Secondly they will come up with such things irrespective of your looks . When people have nothing to do and realize that their friend has a crush they will out of jealousy try to embarrass the guy.

Yes, I would say something like that in response to teasing. Teasing is often playful and well-intentioned. If it is, it's a sign of approval in dating. Either that or they're trying to create an opportunity for their friend to ask the girl out, but make him less uneasy about it.

It's definitely something I would say when I know my friend has a crush on that girl.. you know, just to tease him and create awkward moments. :p

"how do I know what his friends think of me?" You don't. I think that doesn't really matter, I never give my opinion about a friend's girlfriend anyway. So don't care about that, after a while you will know which friend's of him are comfortable around you.
