This is unlike girls when girls said they like a guy, their female friends will tall or gossip more on it but we won’t tease each other.

I've given this a bit of thought and will go beyond the declaration that guys are just pricks.

I think that any opportunity for community connection and entertainment among a "group" of people is going to be capitalized on.

That's what people have done for millennia to entertain themselves.

It's funny as can be to watch people who are "in love" make damned fools out of themselves when in pursuit of that which they desire.

You need to understand that men tend to give other men a hard time, ESPECIALLY if they are friends. They constantly make jokes at each other's expense, and sometimes at their own expense. It's how men keep each other humble and prevent egos from growing out of control. But it's not taken seriously.

If I was much younger and I told a group of friends that I liked a girl, some of them might tease me about it, and if I handled it well, my status among my friends would be raised.

Usually, if a guy's "friends" aren't giving him a hard time (in a humorous way), then they aren't really good friends of his.
