I rarely talk about fashion and stuff. This will be my first take in the section.
But before we begin....
I know that many of you folks here loathe India.
You should hit the back button if you are one of them.
(Buttons were invented in India by the way).
1. Sherwani
The ideal dress for males.
The Sherwani was derived from the British frock coat and now it is the traditional formal wear of India.
It is usually worn by people of high status.
A custom Sherwani can be insanely expensive. More than a thousands $.
1. Saree
The ideal dress for women.
The formal wear for women.
A saree is a long rectangular fabric but is very complex to wear.
This is one of the things that amazes me,
because Indian women don't go all berserk even when wearing this clothing.
2. Kurta
The casual wear for men.
A kurta is like a long shirt with buttons in the upper part.
You will require some decent height to put this one on.
Its a really simple and badass clothing.
Kurta is from the northern part but has been adapted well all over the country.
2. Salwar
The casual wear for women.
Can be called a kurta for women.
This was primarily the traditional dress of people from Punjab and has been well adapted across the land.
Again it works really well on taller women.
3. Nehru Jacket
The choice of politicians.
This one was named after the first prime minister of India.
The Nehru jacket is a hip-length tailored coat for men and women, with a mandarin collar, and with its front modelled on the Achkan Sherwani.
4. Ghagra/Lehnga
For women with a killer shape.
Commonly worn by women from Gujarat and Rajasthan. This is a ceremonial dress for women.
Very few women can properly dress like in the shown picture. It require a slender shape and tall height. But the ones who can fit in this one are total killers.
5. Turbans
Many kinds of turbans can be found in India.
Every state has its own speciality.
Some examples are
Royal Rajasthani
Sikh Dastar
Mysore Peta
There are many more.
These are some of the more eye busting apparels.
Every state has its own speciality.
You can check wiki about them if interested.
