Traditional clothing from your country of origin or at least those of your heritage can sometimes make you feel a little old fashioned or disconnected from this century. After all, a lot of traditional outfits were constructed hundreds if not thousands of years ago during a different time period. I am not saying you should just forget about these traditions and ditch them entirely, but there are ways you as a modern woman, can honor your culture through clothing that puts a unique modern spin on things.

A lot of designers have this desire to bring the old into the new. They want to interpret cultural fashion for those women who exist today and have modern sensibilities. They take themes, or impressions, or use fabrics from the old to mold them into modern style. You may look at these outfits and get a sense of some history behind them, but they are definitely for women of this century who still want to honor the past while recognizing the future of style.
