Are leggings too revealing?

Question

I feel like this has always been a debate between me and my friends. I personally wouldn't wear leggings with a short top, I find it a bit innapropiate... Or maybe I'm just being too strict on myself? Many argue that leggings are "pants" and don't show anything. What do you guys think?

I wear leggings to the gym. Baggy clothes just get caught on stuff or stop me from being able to move around freely. So I'm comfortable just rocking up in them and a tank. That being said, there is a huge difference between fashion leggings and sports leggings or tights. Sport ones are generally a bit thicker, more stretchy and often have some weird magical fabric technology so it doesn't look like you're sweating. Fashion leggings tend to be less flexible and generally a thinner fabric. That means they show more, so if it's a fashion legging i will only wear it with a longer top or jacket that covers my butt.
I don't know if that helps but yeah.

I have to say hands down that you are a Classy girl. I feel like every since they made leggings everyone want to show their whole body and pussy area. Its not right it makes them look cheap and trashy. I have to say it how it is lets leave a little bit of imagination to a guys brain. Naa I don't think they are too revealing at all. As long as they are not kinda see through and you see panties... I don't know why some people hate on leggings so much, they are so comfy and look so good at the same time, while tight skinny jeans does almost the same BUT they are quite uncomfortable and hard to get on...

Well, leggings (and I hope you mean sport leggings, not those who are meant to be worn under something else), are not the same as pants. Sure sometimes you can wear them with not a too tight shirt, but wearing them every day with tight tops are a no go. It just looks a bit cheap.

I wear leggings to the gym and sometimes to the store afterwards, I wear a long shirt, I do not wear underwear. No one including family member has ever said anything. You get looks at times, might even overhear something, but you have to just ignore it. My experience is that its just fashion police. Some are just shocked because its not something you see everyday. Shirts dont always fix the "problem" when lifting your arms or sitting. But here's a news flash, guys have a penis. Its covered, so what if you can see an outline. What do you do when you see someone has drawn a penis on a wall. Oh, right, no-one ever draws those.

Leggings are a bit like makeup, in that they misrepresent what's going on. You can get all sorts of compressing, turning many shapes into one shape (the shape the designer deaigned). It's easy for most any girl with a slimish waist and thickish legs to look AMAZING.
But leggings are also like underwear. They reveal the 'exact' curve and shape of your body, it's like you're not wearing anything.
So I think your opinion is an extremely valid one.

It depends how thick the leggings are!! The cheap, thin ones go transparent over your bum. I have some pairs that I wear as trousers because you can't see anything through them, others I need a long top, shorts or a skirt over the top so I don't show the world my knickers.

If the person wearing them is comfortable and happy with it, and they don't feel over exposed, it's fine. Personally, I'll only wear them with dresses or shirts that cover my butt. But that's just me and what I'm comfortable with, so everyone else can wear what they're comfortable with and I won't judge them for it. I might judge if they look bad in whatever they chose, but yeah... That's a me problem. Working on it.

Well it kind of depends on whether you have something to reveal or not.

If you're skinny or flat I'd say not so much. If you're hippy or curvy then yeah but that's up to the person to dress how they want to.

I only think it's too revealing for young girls to wear. Like a young girl trying to look older than she is.

I don't midn if a girl wears them. I get it, they're comfortable or whatever it is but, to try and pull them off AS pants, is inappropriate. They are NOT pants. They're leggings. If you want to wear something comfortable but are pants, then wear yoga pants, or sweats (though I don't really like when people wear sweats in public (when it's not a gym))
