Do you think ripped jeans are trashy and not age-appropriate?

Question

I never wore ripped jeans before... but now I've somehow become interested in them. But I'm old and I don't want to look dumb. This is as ripped as I'd purchase:

I don't see why you have dress a certain way just because of your age.
I bought these not too long ago and they're one of my favorite pair of ripped jeans. Very comfortable.

I especially like wearing ripped jeans on cooler days, when it's a bit too cold to wear shorts but a bit too hot to wear pants.

See older people laugh at them, but I once pointed out to a family member that when they were younger they had fucking bell bottom jump suits.

LOL... I'm 34 and I still wear ripped jeans. I guess it's just my style - the punky type with bright red colored hair, wears a lot of band tees and skull designs, plaid shirts... you get the picture ;)

They look fine, if you pair them with something that's a little more dressed up. The bottom picture with some heels is much better than the top with the slip-ons for example.

I love ripped jeans! I love distressed or vintage things so so much. You shouldn't wear them to a funeral or anything, but for just casual times, they're fine.

I like rhe ripped jeans that are still somewhat covered. I hate the ones with the huge wholes where like half the thigh or knee sticks out

It depends. If it's more holes than fabric, it looks ridiculous. But few holes or slit knees look fine. Maybe if you'd be 40+, it might look weird.

I saw that trend myself and I never understood what's so appealing about it. I'd only assume, that the person is too poor to afford new clothes like I am.

I mean what is the point of wearing broken clothes? Are you trying to avoid gold diggers? Because I don't think, that this will help much if at all.
It's just not what I like to see - let's just say so.

You wear what you want but my judgments will not affect the person but rather question the persons living conditions.

I would usually buy regular jeans and not worry about them becoming tattered. Then people started buying jeans that already had holes in them and I questioned their sanity
