I definitely agree 😂😂😂
I myself don't judge edges so I don't do mines. I remember when I went to a stylish they'd always try to style mines. I didn't want them too but they did it anyways. I don't need to lose extra baby hairs for the sake of fashion!
I hardly touch mines. I just wrap my hair with a satin scarf at night and my hair comes out shiny and smooth in the morning. I didn't know that "laying edges" was even a thing until about a year ago, when someone asked me how I laid mines lol.
What ethnicity are you, if you don't mind me asking?
Really? I thought everyone knew, there's even a hair product called "edge control". Buy generally only people with curly hair care about edges.
I didn't know until I started straightening my hair at the salon.
I'm American Black
My mom always kept my hair natural growing up. I've been using the same types of products in my hair since birth. My hair is naturally really defined, soft, and shiny so my mom has barely ever used gel in my hair. My routine used to be shampoo, condition, detangle, add oil, add hair cream, braid it or put it in a bun and then wear it out for the week. Now I'll gel my hair every couple weeks if it starts to get humid and I still don't even bother with my edges.
But I just learned yesterday from a GaG member that people go as far as flat ironing their edges (ouch!). I've also heard that some people perm them.
I've always just stuck to buying hair cream and hair oil. No joke, I bought my first tub of hair cream in the last year and half.
Your mom went the right way about it.
I begged mines to straighten mine since all the girls were teasing me... and ya my stylish would "get those edges" with the hot comb. One even burned my hair off!!!
Needless to say I don't go to salons anymore. If you have long hair beware, they're always looking to cut it!
Dang, I must have found one of the few reputable salons then. They follow my wishes to the tee and when I go there to get my hair flat Ironed (like once a year or for special events). They'll flat iron my hair without burning me or causing heat damage and then they'll offer to trim my ends (I get lazy with trimming my split ends) the only take off a minimal amount and shape everything up too.
Oh and I meant to say *my first tub of hair gel*
Lol I know what you meant! Gel was too drying for me so I don't bother with it.
If I wet my hair a bit and wrap it with a scarf, it flattens my hair pretty well too π
Hey! Good for you for finding a solution. I take breaks from gel pretty often because I've found it to be drying too. I generally moisturize every other night at latest. My hair is so thirsty haha.
I feel it, those curls are high maintenance but definitely worth it
Right! They can be a struggle to maintain but when you put in the effort, The result is so satisfying.
Agreed
Now that last picture is a shame. But I love to have my edges fried dyed and laid to she side.
Yours look cute though and they look natural

I've actually seen the edges I posted above in regular day to day life and it didn't make any sense to me.
My thoughts exactly
those aren't cute but laid edges aren't βtoo farβ those are just ugly
I don't think all laid edges are bad, just the really extravagant ones.
Looks nice but also looks like a lot of work (or money).
So they've managed to impressed someone
Because it's what "fashion" says. I hate fashion (-_-)

The first one is cute but the other ones are heading towards those silly ass looking eyebrows lol
I don't really like them, except for the top picture
Yeah, it's getting extra.
Right! Some of them look like they've tattooed spirals or waves on they're foreheads and then coated it in grease.
yeah those are way too extra lmao
It hurts to have them ironed.
People do that? How is their forehead not burnt lol.
It stings.
I'll bet
Yeah that looks sweaty lol. No good
I don't see that... cute

I do my edges but not like that.
I like it. I'll try and do mine.
Who thinks its cute
I don't know
Actually, I lied. I've met a few girls who wore their hair like that.
