What Girls & Guys Said

You see, there is a thin line between overdoing it and keeping it subtle. Keep it subtle when you're trying to impress or attract someone. Once they are in love with you, they wouldn't really care how you look without makeup or with it. Coz for them you're the most beautiful woman in the world, no matter what.
yes all the way.
obviously the reason why the girls who wear makeup get approached more is because they appear more attractive at the moment. but either way the guy is gonna find out exactly what you look like without make up on sooner or later, no?
It really depends. My ex girlfriend very rarely used any make up. I met her without it, and always dealed with her without it. I always knew what she actually looked like, and was happy with it. That made it so that when she used make up, i would be pleasantly surprised, because a girl i already thought was beautiful, now, was even more so. My opinion is that on day to day activities, too much make up is just a... lie. Both to girls, and guys. Its some tough shit
I think that girls need to stop being fake, I think that girls need to stop taking hours to get ready. Get a hobby where you use your brain and your hands. And stop worrying about your weight.
Workout/be active, shower, hobby, work
It's not being fake... Using make up is a skill. And it needs brain. Not everyone can put makeup correctly and having make up skill can get you money if you're serious in it.
@NomNom16 I never said it didn't take skill, but in the end you are doing a disservice to yourselves
Eww those girls are bad examples but if you think about it makeup never existed to the extreme it does today and there are no book written about how bad girls look without makeup in the Middle Ages so obviously guys slept with girls back then too. All makeup did was just raise the bar on how girls think they should present themselves
If she has healthy skin and looks great without make up yes, in any other case no. Humans are superficial, looks matter, also the girl who wears make up seems better groomed more attractive and thus more confident.
I'm a guy, and I prefer girls with no make up (natrual beauty).
Some girls probably don't even need to use make up at all.
And if she had spots/acne, it will soon go away if it's looked after and treated with cream properly.
i definitely prefer women without makeup, i love the innocent and pure features of women and I just don't understand why people would waste time and money to change their features. make up is used to emphasize features, not to change them. natural or light make up is fine, but thick eye liners and false eye lashes? that's a bit over the top
When guys say they prefer girls without makeup, I think what they really mean is they prefer girls without too much makeup. The more makeup you wear, the less natural you look. The goal is to enhance your natural beauty without going overboard and looking clownish. I think most guys will agree with that statement.
The only time I've seen a large amount of women without makeup on is when I was backpacking the AT. Not one of the women I met looked perfect. But almost all of them looked beautiful nonetheless.
There is somethingthat is incredibly sexy about showing off your natural self with confidence, and not trying to hide behind a mask.
If you feel like you need it use it.
My advice is just to use so much you look like a clown.
It's the only time I let a guy see me naked without giving consent tbh 😂😂
Well, it's not like you posted the best example.
But, yeah, I still go with what I always did, in which I don't really care about make up. Not sure why it's so hard to believe. Guys that say otherwise are either extremely picky and/or annoying guys online pretending to have higher "standards".
I can see a girl covering up her zits. now a girl putting on to much make up there is no need. lipstick here and there some eye shadow I get it. A woman wants to look good. Thats fine but heavy eye liner Heavy eye shadow and dark lipstick is a turn off to me. I mean really over done.
They say they do, but then when you actually don’t wear makeup they call you ugly/sick/tired or what have you.
I prefer make up hands down but if we in a relationship then it's a different level and then I can see the inner beauty... call me shallow but 10/10 I'll talk to the girl all done up over not, but it's more like a she cares about herself and the way she look thing
Makeup does make you look better yes, the only time I ever said I preferred girls without makeup was at school because they had no idea what subtle meant. They all looked like clowns.
Now I simply respect whatever my partner decides to do. I am aware that blemishes exist and I respect her for who she is.
Wear makeup for YOURSELF and not to impress anyone especially some dude bro who doesn’t understand the first thing about makeup or the time it takes to feel confident and look good.
Well they sure looks nice with make up but its fake
I would feel weird if my boyfriend wear make up or have fake stuff on himself to look better, no, I want my guy natural, I some feel guys feel the same way about girls
No.
They prefer women who are stunning without makeup to those who are average without but look stunning with. As you're aware - that doesn't matter.
They prefer girls who aren't obsessed with their looks and makeup and won't leave the house if not given an hour to get their contouring right.
It's a little bit like asking girls if they like it when guys spend 3-4 hours a day working out. They don't, they'd like guys to just work out a few times a week and have perfect muscles.
That's the point though. Most women don't look that stunning without make-up. That's just a fact. Or at least very few. Girls are obsessed because they all want to improve what they have. It is completely unreasonable to expect someone to look a certain way but then not let them put in the work that it takes to do that, and on top of that, call that "obsessed". In order to have nice muscles, a guy *has* to work out a few hours a day. There's nothing wrong with that. In order for me to have what I want, I grant the other person the space, time and energy to do what they need to do to look like that and not criticize them for the effort.
@cherryphi82 if the point is that men and women are a little hypocritical in terms of what they’d like then yes absolutely.
If we’ve moved on to how to respond to that, I think the answer is likely “put in reasonable efforts to look good without imagining that marginal improvements will be life changing”. Most of the benefit can be obtained with a reasonable effort. Women should also not feel like they must be made up 100% of the time.
Right. Reasonable effort. For most people, that works just fine. And then there's others who have to put in more effort to look better. And for those I think it takes more effort and I would rather refrain from judging them, because at least they're making improvements. It's always better to try to improve than to do nothing.
@cherryphi82 TBH there are a few sources of guys complaining about makeup, but I suspect a fairly large one is guys who are below average looking who -wish- there was something they could do to look a lot better.
I'm not sure what you mean.
@cherryphi82 I'm saying of the men who rant about women wearing makeup are ranting because they are -jealous- that average or below average looking women might make themselves look quite attractive with makeup, covering up their imperfections, while they, the men complaining, do not have the same opportunities. This could be more general, or quite specific - for example in this question we see examples of women covering severe acne with makeup. It's not socially acceptable for men to do the same, so a man who feels he's being rejected for his acne may complain about women wearing makeup, because he's envious.
Ok, in the case of acne you may be right. But there are other things you can do, like see a dermatologist and take antibiotics and other medicine that can clear it up. As a man, you have ample opportunities to make yourself attractive to women short of surgery. Eat well, work out, dress well, smell good, nice hairstyle, good manners, etc. These all count for a lot and can make all the difference, even if you have imperfections. With guys, I've noticed it is often the behavior that is at fault and not their looks.
@cherryphi82 While I don't disagree that men can do those things, few of them are as quickly dramatic as makeup. And none of them will deal with some things... for instance I have dark eye circles. They're just not going anywhere, no matter what I do.
Acne can be pretty rough, people with bad cystic acne can use some very potent meds but they literally cause depression and dehydration for 6 months or so.
I think also men, especially younger ones who aren't particularly successful, are hurt by the fact they can look 'okay' to women, but rarely or ever can be 'hot' the way fairly average women can. Fairly average women, in the right makeup and outfit, can have guys drooling over them. I think most men virtually -never- experience that level of being wanted.
Then why do women risk their lives to undergo dangerous surgeries? Don't change the subject now. First, it was about not being able to do anything about how you look and I gave you tons of examples. Working out and eating right are *drastic*! Now we're suddenly talking about success. It's about success. I'll say it one more time: It's about behavior. If you are an self-pitying asshole who feels he deserves a sexually appealing woman but feel like you shouldn't have to do anything to appear interesting in return, yeah, that makes you the culprit.
@cherryphi82 I'm actually not sure what you think the topic is at this point. I thought the topic was primarily 'do men like or not like makeup on women' and from there had perhaps expanded to 'why do some men complain so much about makeup'. You've made the point that men can work out. Women can also workout, and have a drastic impact on their body, like men. Women and men can both improve their clothing and hair. Women and men can both get plastic surgery. Women are almost societally required to wear makeup, and men are societally required -not- to wear makeup. Who wins that one? I don't know. But I can understand how both women who don't want to wear makeup and men who are jealous that they can't improve their looks with makeup would grumble.
I find that hard to believe. It sounds like you are another poor me type of guy who feels jilted by women.
@cherryphi82 I'm married, multiple kids, and work out several times a week. And I like makeup on women.
I think women are beautiful either way I don't really care whether they wear makeup or not I care more about their personality
Lmfao!!! Such a dramatic comparison... You know that makeup gives you acne? I stopped using any kind of products on my face including soap and it all went away!
Make up doesn't cause acne. It can certainly block your pores and worsen your acne but if you use quality products and cleanse properly, it doesn't. Acne is genetic. Some people can have a very healthy looking skin despite caking on make up and some have the worst acne despite never having used any make up. I had horrible acne in high school even though I hadn't used any make up on my skin. Now that I do use make up, my acne is way better.
Acne is bit genetic or certain races would have 0 acne and I'm pretty sure all races get acne. There are hormones in the food we eat. Milk, beef, cheese, chicken. And when we hit puberty the stuff we put in our bodies reacts with our natural hormones and it caused acne and other imbalances. Acne face wash causes your skin to produce more oils make up clogs your pours. Have you ever looked at someone's scalp? Shampoo actually causes your scalp to dry out. All these products are just lies sold to you to perpetuate problems that make you insecure. And then you buy more and different products to "try something new" but it's all part of the plan
by the way did you ladies ever wonder why men always have longer eye lashes than you? Or why our fingernails are thicker? Because we don't out chemicals on our bodies that destroy them.
No it's genetics. Buddy you gotta shut up or get empirical facts to what you're saying before you make yourself look dumb. My fingernails are much stronger than average because it's genetics, nothing to do with how much I put or don't put chemicals on it.
If I linked you facts would yo even read them? People just like to argue because they want to be right or feel superior. The answers are out there and I'm not going to force you to look at them.
From those pics... girls with makeup. Please (but not to go beyond, hi how are you?)
If the girls is ugly then better to improve it by faking it to a certain point. Eventually if feeling happen... truth will always prevail. And no love makes a girl pretty to be honest...
Natural, all the way. We men are not as shallow, as females seem to think we are. Yes we like a pretty face, but we like a real person more. If you can't be accepted for yourself by someone with out makeup, why would you want to be with that person.
Given the wide range in women's appearances, you're going to find lots of situations where she will look better with makeup. I tend to prefer women without makeup, but the woman in the first pic needs it, whereas I would say the other two do not.
Depends, I honestly couldnt care much if you did or didn’t, I understand that some girls like giving use makeup because it makes them feel more secure about themselves therefore it doesn’t really matter to me.
They want a girl who LOOKS like she has makeup on, but who won't look any different first thing in the morning.
I found that when I stopped using makeup my face cleared up.
It’s dependant on the girl I think. I feel comfortable without make up x
My boyfriend refers to 'light make-up' as 'no make-up.' And I get the impression he's not fussed whether I wear it or not. I think make-up is only favourable in situations where you should make an effort, eg. Nights out or dates.
I prefer women with good hygiene, in my opinion its okay to put some makeup to make a twist like eyeliners or lipsticks thats femenine but the rest just seem cheap and filthy to me.
I find guys' claim that women look better without makeup quite hypocritical. I rarely wear makeup in my daily life and I've been told that I could use some lipstick or mascara cause I look plain and even sick or below average without it
So when they say no makeup, they mean makeup which isn't obvious or very subtle makeup
There's nothing wrong with no-makeup or a bit of natural makeup. What men can't stand is the first picture on the right. That shit looks so bloody fake. The second girl is fine with no makeup and her subtle casual makeup is really nice.
Far as dating me, yes... Makeup should not be so drastic that you look like a different person without it.
And most of those women would look just fine with less makeup in person.
These aren't really fair comparison. The first girm has a serious skin condition and all those actresses are always tired af when they're not doing a public appearance.
*girl
I just searched online to what I think represents friends that I have and myself as well as other girls without posting actual personal pics. Teens have acne and some are as bad as that, my acne used to be similar to that 1st girl. A lot of girls look tired without makeup, ofc people never really look as bad as candid pics make them to look.
didn't you have skin problem when you were a teen? Lucky you if you didn't have any
It depends on the girl really. A young pretty 16-30 year old who avoids fast food, alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, over exposure to sunlight and over eating generally speaking doesn't need make up. Make up on really looks good in pictures hence why celeb women wear makeup and older 30+ year olds wear make up to hide their age and to stay attractive..
A study has shown that guys prefer women with minimal makeup , which is obviously true.
Though I'm not going to lie , if you look way better with makeup than without it , I think guys are obviously going to be attracted to you more with makeup on. That's just the truth. If you don't look super different without it I would say it wouldn't matter as much , see this is why they like minimal makeup because then they get to see the closest thing to what the real you looks like.
Yes makeup is sexy but not too much. If i see girl in night club without make up ill probably think that she have bad hygiene or she is not interested in life ( yea weird) and if i see too much makeup it gives me bitchy feeling. SO SOMETHING IN MIDDLE.
Guys who want sex tend to prefer make-up.
Guys looking for a potential wife tend to severely distrust women who wear make-up.
Adjust your plumage accordingly.
I prefer without make up. It makes you "less likeable but more lovable" as the phrase goes. Remember that looks create infatuation, while personalities create relationships.
As a makeup artist, I'd rather die than please some loser who gets his panties in a bunch because I like makeup. No, thank you.
Personally i would have to say that i prefer no make up. If its for an occassion or what ever thats one thing but on the daily. Its just way to much
It really depends for me, if I like the girl I'm with without her makeup I'll tell her. It's always nice to be comfortable around your girl and to let her be comfortable around you.
That's just those girls, OP. Guys want an attractive girl, they just want it to be the real deal and not face-paint
I wouldn't date any of the 6 pictures. Yes I know it's three people, with and without, I'm just saying I don't think this is the best sample because they don't look good with or without makeup.
Depends on the girl... if she has a naturally beautiful face then no make up should hide it... if she has blotchy skin then some light cover to blend it in should be fine... nothing worse than a generally pretty girl over doing the makeup and looking like a tranny... that said, its often the confidence boost they have when wearing make up that gives them a glow and a more attractive demeanour like in the last photo.
Its not that guys dont like makeup its a matter of not going over board. After a while its polarizing and guys will simply not notice all the hard work. So kiss that like.1.5 hours of work goodbye.
I personally don't, but at the same time it makes me laugh whenever people get suprised when they take off the thick loaf of makeup and they look like a different person.
depends on the girls personality. some seem to be able to pull off the minimal or no make up while others are a little out there and wear make up to match. personally I prefer girls with the minimal natural make up look.
There is a saying from a book i read.
"Men fall for what they see, Women fall for what they hear"
It's either love at first sight or friend at first sight.
You should be ashamed of yourself for that first pic. The poor girl has a terrible case of acne, and you ask if she looks better with make-up? And what's that... Mila Kunis after a two day drunk?
I don't know just took the pics off Google that had with and without makeup together. I didn't want to do a full analysis on what pics to use. Plus I had acne that bad in high school, people made fun of me but when I put on makeup I was treated so nicely so it just gets me wondering.
Not much to wonder about, is there?
Yeah there is because if they say they like girls without makeup because it shows confidence and all then why become extra nice and kneel at the feet of girls with makeup on and basically ignore those without.
Hmm. Problem is, we're so used to seeing makeup on women we aren't used to seeing normal.
Imagine that all guys deceptively wore suits, rolex watches, and drove sports cars... and they were all just cheap rentals. See how we view makeup?
I prefer "natural" makeup, which already sounds kinda silly. But I just don´t like heavy make up which makes you look totally different. That´s why there´s a thing called "shower test"
I'd say the guy usually just wants the closest to the real girl and hence prefers subtle makeup appliances so anything that looks natural (not fake eyebrows and 20 layers of concealers )
I think most guys would prefer women with no makeup if they look good without makeup, that way wearing makeup becomes something special and its own turn on
I prefer us to not wear makeup because I like looking at natural faces. Natural is extremely beautiful than makeup faces.
The picture you posted are sick. Now I don't blame men if they say they don't like women with makeup.
Well personally i don't wear makeup and i don't understand why girls do it like the above picture
They wanted to feel beautiful or simply, they like playing with make up.
Yeah. Women use make-up to hide their true face. I want to see what see actually looks like. If a woman knows what she's doing then contouring can completely change how she looks. False advertising
she*
I don't know if I'd say "prefer" but I like ladies without makeup. A little bit if makeup looks nice too. I usually find lots of makeup unappealing in many instances.
The first one is probably a skin problem/ just a phase of pimples , so without those pimples she's much better looking than the one with makeup. Plus there's a difference between light makeup and going full
Prefer the non make up. But if you have had skin like acne then it's alright to wear some to cover it up if you want to but wearing make up to the extent you look like a drag queen or the sun starts shining off of you face then it horrible.
I personally like a girl without or minimal makeup.
Coz real beauty lies in the imperfection.💓
But, if she is willing to apply some.. it is perfectly okay for me.
Anything that makes her happy would never bother me. ♥
