Great question! I honestly don't believe that one can be in place and not the other. If someone has the intellectual capacity to contribute to my goals and purpose in life by helping me create the life I desire they are beautiful all day long. Why? Because first of all, they don't have to be there with you. Building a life with someone is a choice. You are there, because choose to be. Beauty/good looks can be defined in so many ways besides the typical physical aspect.
If my brainy lover accompanies me through the good and bad as I journey through the life... that's a beautiful person. If my brainy lover, carries me through the storms of life when I want to give up, that's a beautiful person. If my brainy lover, is accepting of my imperfections, that's a beautiful person.
Anyone that's willing to meet a person where they are in life and say, " Hey, its you I want for the rest of my days!" That's a beautiful person.
It's all about perception... We all have some degree of intellect. But, at the end of the day it's what we contribute to another person's life that will determine the beauty in which they see in us.
As humans, we try to act on beauty/ good looks first by nature. But, we all have the intelligence to know that true beauty encompasses so much more therefore, it cannot be truly determined in the beginning. A terrible attitude or mindset can hide behind good looks and awesome brains/ intellect.
Therefore, we must be open to understand that the true beauty has to be displayed over time and is usually everlasting. It only gets better with time as we allow the person to evolve. The intellect will develop as well. They both compliment each other nicely.
As I stated earlier, we all have a brain and varying degrees of intellect. Even lacking the latter, you can contribute to someone's life ( think of people with mental challenges who bring a smile to your face) and be beautiful! A good looking person or a brainy person can both contribute to your life ( for example financially) but have the character of a roach! By being dishonest, abusive, unfaithful, etc.
So, never give up on living your happily ever after because you stopped to buy eye candy and never bothered to look at the ingredient list. The ingredient list will assist you in determining how that individual will compliment your life. If we remove the blinders we will eventually see that brains without beauty is not a true reality. When you accept that, its an amazing discovery!

+1 yLooks might get my attention but brains and personality are what really attracts me to a guy. I've been really attracted to some guys that weren't the best looking. But they were so smart, interesting, witty and passionate and they had depth. They drew me in like a moth to a flame. We would talk for hours about any and everything and I would get so turned on talking to them.

In my opinion is more important the mind ( u can share ideas, opinions and learn from his experience and life) with someone than a nice face. But, even if is a genious it's pointless if don't have empathy. Because if u don't recognize the feelings of others, u couldn't show or express ur own feelings.

I take Brains far before , even at the sacrifice or "Settle". She has to be super intelligent to get me. Lessor Intelligence Can be compensated with A modest but A sinc. ere enthused drive learn how to
Live a truly rich happy life.
The Beauty in the smile and kiss the fire and gentle presense in her eyes. I actually prefer dating , loving, living with brilliant women.
Also sense of humor is closelyy, I believe, linked to Intelligence..
I love big ass 4X4 trucks, And super physically hot women. But I would rather not have those
time eating maintenancee costs of that truck and that Ride. Always eating into my time, brain and retirement fund

+1 yIt's a bit more complicated than that for me. Gotta go both ways. Wish you'd specify what you mean by brains... I'm torn between if you're saying it's personality or just intelligence. I've met smart women who were snobby, sweet women who not very smart, and vise versa... that being said, I prefer personality, but attraction is also very important. There has to be attraction no matter what, but if I find someone even only a little bit attractive, who checks all my boxes in what makes you happy, they only get hotter by the second anyway. Looks aren't forever, they kinda just get your foot in the door lol

+1 yHonestly both I want someone to be fairly pretty/handsome (I have no preference), but I am not very level headed so I need someone who can talk sense into me. I want them to be smart, but I don't care if they went to college or graduated high school even as long as they aren't as dumb as rocks. I have to ask though if someone doesn't make your eyes light up when you see them why would you want to be in a relationship with them? If you can't have an intelligent, heartfelt, level headed conversation why would you want to be in a relationship with them? You need both to be able to have a happy, healthy relationship is my point.
00 ReplyI’ve been with a very good looking guy with no brains and couldn’t stand it after a while. Tried the brains but not looks but couldn’t get past kissing so that was a no. Now I have someone with both looks and brains which is perfect. So have to say both matter.
20 ReplyI would love to date someone with brains but I always feel inferior to them and I have a problem with it as I've constantly been made to feel stupid growing up. So I ended up dating looks. Now I'm alone because I can't get along with looks because looks wants to be looked after... and I don't have money to look after them.

+1 yBrains, it is great when you can have meaningful conversations about interesting things with someone. Looks are one thing, that's the outside layer, the thing you can appreciate from a distance. I think getting to meet the other part of a person, their actual personality and intellect, is more fun.
10 ReplyThe organism does whatever it can to survive in the environment. So it depends on the resources that can be used by other organisms to maximize one’s ability to survive in the environment. Short Answer : No, most people are into resources. Looks and brains might indicate it or not. You have to investigate
00 ReplySimple
You must have brain to see brain
U must not have eyes to see beauty...

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yLooks fade, so people too obsessed over it lack the brains I want. Brains are way likely to last longer and it's what is more important for success and survival. Unconsciously, the importance of looks are associated with how much you want to fuck somebody. It's selfish and flat out stupid. Comparable to that of wild beasts who lack brains but are desperate to fuck anything they can.

+1 yBoth. No way of having one without the other. If I can't wish to have sex with you and kiss all your body and face , your personality doesn't matter. And the other way around. If you are hot but an asshole.. then Its not gonna work. Im honest here. Im not going to say "The beauty is beneath" because I have two hungry eyes and a smart brain.
00 ReplyI wouls say a mix between both because not everyone who has the brains is good looking and vice versa. I think there should be a balance between the two. Otherwise it would be too overwhelming and burdensome.

+1 yBoth , I feel like when people say brains they're the biggest liars. women dont want to seem shallow so they give a kind answer. I respect the girls who are honest when they say looks it both. I need both , I can't date or be physical with someone I'm not attracted to. I've been with a girl who is very physically attractive , however had nothing but stones between the ears and omg I've a came , I really don't care about her because she has nothing going for her but looks

Same. This is definitely me. My crushes always sneak up on me. I have to get to know them and actually decide that I like them as a person, or the crush fades basically overnight. Lol.
2.7K opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. Intelligence is attractive to guys who aren't afraid of intelligent women. Looks can often be improved greatly by better clothing, a stylish haircut, and confidence. I'll take the smart mousy girl over the shallow fashion plate any day.

Cliche as it sounds, looks can only go so far before it gets boring. I've dated some out of shape guys that were intelligent and had great personalities00 Reply
+1 yI'm into both equally. There needs to be physical attraction but I also need someone who is intelligent. I just can't stand being around mundane, slow people.
00 ReplyDefinitely personality (I realize not the question but it's true) but if I had to choose between your options I'd say looks. I am not worried about brains as long as they have a good heart
