I'm sorry but those looks will eventually fade. Not to mention I've met some handsome guys that had no manners or personality at all- not exactly a turn on.

But an intellectual man that can stimulate me mentally and hold a real conversation with me is way more appealing.

Huge plus if he's sarcastic or good at debating, can hold his own in an argument and not afraid to call me out if I'm wrong on something.

I think it unwise to base one's liking of another person solely off of one superficial trait. It should always be a healthy mix of everything. But, of course, you will never get a person who checks every box in your turn-on list so some compromises have to be made.

Personally, I don't care if she's hyper-intelligent, just that she's more or less on my level where we can intellectually relate to one another.

Appearance is the first thing we see, it's what initially catches interest. After that, personality (brains) takes over, and either repels us, or draws us in. One essentially needs both, in the average scenario.

One could also say that brains is more important. Because you can change appearance, or help them get better. Personality traits are more difficult to get rid of ir change.
