Most models look like this model
This is Barbara Palvin
She has a very average body. I have a body like her.
I think Barbara looks amazing, she is very beautiful and attractive as a woman which I can't say for the other model (my own preference). Yet I think if most models are 0-2 and she wears 4 then she is a little too big. It would be another thing if Victoria's Secret decided to implement models Barbara's size in their routine but just one model is a bit too ummm, not cost-effective. They have all their clothing made for the usual model size and they would have to make her size especially. There is a reason why models have one size and it is so small - they are not supposed to represent female beauty, they are supposed to be dummies for clothes and by taking such small models one size fits them all and less money has to spent on materials.
WTF she’s a size 4? And you think that’s to big? I can’t even wrap my head around that. She’s a beautiful woman who looks great it the small amount of clothing she had on. To continually pick sizes of models smaller than that is a huge problem in the fashion industry. If a woman is healthy and that small great but to make that the standard size is unhealthy for most woman. That sets an unrealistic view of what all women should look like. I’m not on board with fat acceptance but a healthy woman at a healthy weight is what needs to be shown not sickly looking women who looked starved
not in my opinion no, the whole Victoria Secrets criteria and as modelling in general is you have to be a size 0 to be considered as a successful model, yet they are modelling clothing that they want people to buy... barely anyone has a size zero body, and it isn't 100% healthy for many to even try to...
an average body type might not be everyone's ideal body but it isn't a bad size...
in fact if anything I would say it is more attractive than the size 0 twigs you see on these sort of things
I think the model industry has too ridiculous and unrealistic standards. Barbara Palvin is considered very slim in my country and also very pretty. I'm agree in that she's slim and pretty. The model industry makes beauty standards too unhealthy if they continue doing what they're doing. I think Palvin should still work as a model.

It shows how much the fashion industry is out of touch with reality when someone with Barbara Palvin is considered "big".
In marketing, scarcity is something that drives up prices. I believe the elite segment of the fashion industry artificially creates scarcity by selling products that only very slender women can wear. Higher prices help to ensure scarcity and scarcity continues to support high prices. No one would pay $300 for a dress that you see dozens of other women wearing as you walk down the street. Then fashion magazines tell women that this is how they should look and what they should wear. When a designer chooses waifish models, they promote this scheme by reinforcing the idea that these are fancy clothes for women with the "right" body type. The smaller the models are, the more logical it seems when the product line is maxed out at a size 6 or size 8, for example. That supports... you guessed it... scarcity.
great analysis.
Thank you.
I realized this about the fashion industry after learning how the diamond industry works. One or two companies control the vast majority of diamond extraction in the world. They restrict production and then market it as a rare natural resource. The rarity of the diamond is grossly exaggerated. But people buy into the hype and pay high prices for it.
I don't set the rules, if they want to include average bodied people to cater to bigger people, it's their choice.
But yes, I personally think that Barbara Palvin is far too big and that hiring her cheapened the name of the brand.
It's like a 3 Michelin star restaurant advertising to the fast food crowd, it makes zero sense and it makes your product look a lot less exclusive.
But it's a marketing choice, perhaps at VS they believe they are going to make more money that way.
That’s sexy not average. The reed thin models are flat chested that’s just boring and not sexy.
Even if I wanted to admire I think it would be one with a womanly figure.
I pity those reed thin thinking it’s sexy. It’s not so just don’t go with the flow you have to assume sexy mind frame yourself.
I'm thinking Barbara looks really nice, and attractive! The other one, maybe just released from some concentration camp?
Who decided what women 'SHOULD' look like, and how curvy, and what size? Probably a bunch of D-bag guys, and what they like and not at all what is normal, and healthy! Definitely not the norm of women, being just perfectly normal, as they are, if you ignore some bullshit fashion ideals!!
What a sad post. Instend of you looking and saying thumbs up VS you literal took a size 4 woman and decide to just be catty and cherry pick. There was no reason for this. None.
By the way I run between a size 6-8 myself and I get told daily I need to model so it go to show models aren't just a size 0.
She looks perfectly beautiful, healthy body. I don't see the necessity for models to be 0-2 in dress size because obviously, not all women are that size. It's better to have equal representation than an unrealistic representation because it can create a disconnect in a brand and its potential buyers.
So most models are ugly? And we finally have a beautiful one with a nice body? Not a skeleton? The horror
Wow I didn't know she was so big O-O
Last time I saw a pics of her she was much slimmer. I think she's even too fat for being a model. She's much bigger than me and I'm not even a model.
She's bigger than the average woman seriously...(at least where I live people are slimmer than her).
They both lookin' fine :D what the modelling industry demands and what the average man responds to physiologically are two different things. But sure, I guess by VS's standards she's not in their typical ballpark, but you'd be hard pressed to find a real life man who gives a shit
She's definitely carrying more weight to be size 4. I would definitely say she is carrying a little bit of weight to be VS model, but that's because for VS she was token plus-size model. If she lost that weight or was her actual normal weight range she'd have a hot body. She has been modelling for many years if she didn't have a attractive body she wouldn't have lasted this long.
If she has an average body isn't that good? Most people don't have a super model body, so shouldn't models represent the average person?
@Pulimuli I was just saying average because that's what the asker said.
Well, shit. I rather see Barbara half naked than "average models" because Barbara at least has something to look at.
@morimeme1 If a model is to represent how the cloth is supposed to look on a person, wouldn't an average girl be better instead of a spooky scary skeleton?
I'm not really sure they were intended like that. I have mixed feelings about it since from one side I understand why the models are expected to be so thin and all the same since then thay don't have to spend as much money on materials and one size fits them all, also without having set requirements for the job ir would be cheapened and basically anyone could do if. From the other side is what the media is talking nowadays, representation and showing how the cloth will actually look. Yet I wouldn't say that Barbara is your average girl either.
@morimeme1 If people were actually willing to have more "appropriate" they'd have more "healthy" models. Both women and men. How small people need to get, it's commendable for their dedication to the job, but personally it's nothing better than bodybuilding.
Sure, having a size set, it's very, very easy to make cloths, since you don't need to measure your model every time. Sure lower cost is another benefit. The problem here is that they're completely ignoring the fact that people are getting, on average, getting taller / bigger every year.
If they are blatantly ignoring humans and wish to save as much money as possible, why use models at all? Why not have mannequins on a track?
And let's leave media out of this. Outrage tactics to get views is getting annoying.
a size 4 is size 0 in the USA and where is Victoria secret from? USA and she has a very nice figure and anyone would kill to look like her. And a model isn’t just a model for her weight is also how you act is front of camera and can also be her facial characteristic as she is pretty. And also models are being more diverse now
No she not Barbara Palvin has a nice body.
"I hAvE a BoDy LiKe HeR"
Chances are, you REALLY don't. Or else you wouldn't be coming across so jealous of her.
Comparing with picture you posted. The picture in the question and her body size in VS is not size 4. She was suppose to be token plus-size for VS, so she put on weight to look like pic in the question. Her size in the pic in the question and with what you posted are different. She definitely has hotter body in the pic you posted which is not the same as pic in the question.
@Oram52 She is not a “token plus size” model😂Where the fuck did you hear that BS? Certainly not from VS. Her size and weight are the same in both photos- one she has baggy clothes on, and the other she’s in a swim suit. The picture in the question is a size 4 or 6. Don’t speak about something you don’t know.
That's exactly what VS marketed Barbara Palvin as their new addition as a plus-size model. Some hailing it a positive others criticizing it that she is not plus-sized (ie obese). She is size 8 in VS pic. I heard that BS from all the "noise" when Barbara was included as new VS angel, calling it plus-size. It was even on GAG. :)
Nonetheless there is NO way Barbara is size 2 or 4 in VS pic like you posted yourself. Any analysis would prove that. That was my point.
Original question said "Is Barbara Palvin a little big to be a Victoria’s Secret model?" ... which automatically implies does she seem outside the normal range VS models usually tend to be. Answers seem to confirm that.
Sports illustrated picture she is indeed her normal range of size 2-4 in sharp contrast to VS pic :) Sports illustrated have also become "inclusive" apparently.
I mean the VS models look like they need a lot more carbs in their lives. She has the body that the rest of the models should strive for... Not starve for.
"I have a body like her"
Another day, another pink Anon telling us that a woman with perfectly healthy, fit and beautiful body is 'too big'.
If she is too big then VS NEEDS bigger models.
"She has a very average body. I have a body like her." Pictures or it didn't happen. She is far from fat, she just isn't the typical lanky type that most often than not starves herself.
I don’t think she’s average at all. She doesn’t look like she’s gonna die from malnutrition, like many models nowadays, but she’s still thin and very good looking. If you have a body like her good for you lol.
