Why do other people put extra effort into my appearance if I don’t

So I have never had a girlfriend and don’t really care about my appearance but I notice sometimes people actually try to improve it for example I was getting my hair cut at the regular barbershop I go to and after she was done she started trimming my eyebrows and got rid of my unibrow

Simple: the majority of women do it for themselves. To make themselves feel good, or be the best they can be. This applies to men as well. When you groom yourself and show yourself love you can come in contact with yourself as a person, as well as learn self love and gain confidence. Us girls are taught to do this at a young age, whether it’s for ourselves or if we wish to do it for others. Being the best you should be a goal for everyone, whether it’s in shallow appearance ways or deep personality ways.

The example you gave is pretty normal tho. Its kind of their job to improve their clients appearance. A male barber might have done the same thing.
