Good for them, but I feel like it's recently become more of a popularity contest ever since Instagram became a thing.
Sometimes I wonder if they actually like the characters or have watched the anime that they're cosplaying. Or maybe they're just doing it cause the outfits are skimpy and they know they can gain followers/attention that way.
Or maybe a character is very popular and she decides to just cosplay as her only for that reason.
I think cosplay is a neat hobby to have, but when it starts becoming more about getting followers or just seeking attention. That's where things can get a little toxic.

There are worse hobbies and it's a subject I don't mind talking about (finding out what exactly they've cosplayed can tell you a great deal about someone), though I think the ones who take it to obsessive extremes are weird beyond redemption. There's one woman I graduated high school with that I honestly have no idea what she actually looks like anymore because she has been in a constant state of cosplaying for over a decade.
Not for me but it looks like a lot of fun when they are not sexualizing themselves or being sexualized by others.
Girls should just have fun doing what they love without wanting male approval by sexualizing themselves. Men should be impressed by the fact they went to that creative effort to make their costumes not the fact their tits or arse looks good.
I think it could be fun, dressing up and being a different person.
Or that's my understanding of cosplay? I'm not that familiar with it.
I don't judge people who do it.
I do love to do drag. Make myself look like a different person, it gives me a lot of confidence.

On paper they look really attractive physically and personality-wise. But in reality it makes me wonder what their personalities are really like.
I know a lot of guys who are obsessed with video games and cartoons tend to be weird. I’ve been to comicon and gencon and a big chunk of them tend to be socially “off”. You won’t notice a cosplay girl’s social quirks because of the halo effect at first, but I do wonder.
Is she cool or is there a “catch”.I've dated a cosplayer.
It was all cool and fun until she started tik-tok and dressing as male characters.
It got very cringy and very weird very quickly.
The relationship ended soon after partly because I was really not into the whole thing and partly because she literally started to doubt her own sexuality as a result of being so heavily involved in that community and the people that are in said community.
If they are prepared to keep it private and separate from every day life then by all means go for it, but if the relationship is effected directly and it has a negative effect on both people and every day life then it's an absolute no go.
No hate to anyone in the cosplay community I'm just sharing my experiences.Ok, I had to look up cosplay (yea, I was pretty sure, but wanted to check) I thought it was called 'Putting on a sexy outfit', but has now been codified!
Yea I love the lara croft and that hot chic from star wars in the gold bikini, but all this japanese cartoon-ish shit is weird.Awesome hobby and the more successful players make a decent living at it.
Simply Marvel-ous.- Cosplay girls are totally hot! It's like the newest genre of porn. Especially now that they have the butt plug tails. NSFW Pikachu makes me so horny. Sexy times!
That's awesome! I tried cosplaying once and it was so fun. You meet people who find you awesome for your disguise, people who will ask for pictures or will make references to the game or character you are cosplaying as. I really love this moment of childish fun.
actually i find it attractive and i only hope that whoever i end up developing a relationship with also has this interest too.. though not gonna be a dealbreaker either way tbf
Depends sometimes it's awful sometimes it's great. Just how well you do i suppose. And the girl in the photo did it well but very sexual which i don't mind lol
Oh yea they’re fun... all kinds of role play sexual adventures we can do.
I think it's really cool and expensive especially if you're making the costume yourself. But then again I'm pretty biased bc I do it!
Couldn't care less. As long as they're not e-thots simping thirsty losers online. (Though let's face it; they probably are, statistically.)
It's good that they have passion about something and allow themselves to be a bit nerdy, even better if they like a character I like too.
I love cosplay but I think girls and guys need to know their limitations. Like if you’re 200# you Shouldn’t try to be Harley Quinn.
They're having fun. Good for them! I'd imagine it takes a lot of patience to deal with constantly being hit on, though.
Some are very HOT. Emerald City Comic Con happens in my neighborhood and I look forward to seeing the women in their costumes.
I think it has the potential to either be really cool or really cringey depending on what they’re cosplaying as and the quality of the costume.
Some of them look really cute others just look pathetic.
Never really understood it or why people would be into it.
I wish I could look like Gal Gadot in a WW cosplay.
I love to cosplay and I am a cosplay girl.
