What do you think about Cosplay?

In the past, I found it a bit weird and could never see myself liking it.

However, this past year, I have bought some outfits and wigs just to try for myself in front of a mirror, to see how I look in different costumes and I figure, I kind of like it. I am late at the party I know.

But I think it’s a nice thing for someone who wants to express her creativity and also play around with her personality, you can be whoever you want to be. Is not that fun?

I don’t like too extreme cosplaying though, but I can see myself enjoying it.

I don’t mean extreme cosplay. Just a different costume and a little make up, as usual. To make my own version of a character, that I find interesting.

I played Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood, this year. They really made me want to try more.

As artistic self-expression, I think it could be pretty fun to do — and when paired with the right photographer/photoartist, one can make some pretty cool finished works.

Cosplaying itself isn’t weird in my eyes. But, just like with anime, a person may come off as weird if they make anime or cosplay their entire personality, or if they do it solely for attention-seeking. (So it really depends on how one goes about it.)


You don’t have anything to worry about though. You’re very multifaceted and dynamic, so I don’t see cosplay becoming your entire personality.


Besides, you have a lot of depth to you and a lot going on in your life, so if you were to try cosplay, it wouldn’t be a crutch to hide a boring personality, but rather just another layer of intrigue to add to your existing repertoire of interests. 🎭

Oh yeah, my S/O and I would totally be down to dress up as medieval bards for a renaissance fair. We’re both musicians, and I have 8 years of violin experience, so I can dress the part and play some folk music, haha. 🎻

Not something that I am into, but I can still enjoy seeing the better costumes. When people put a lot into it, they usually look pretty amazing.

Also, a lot of people lose some of their inhibitions and look extremely sexy, which is fun to look at.

I am not into this culture (despite everyone assuming I am because I am a Japanese descendant).

However, I think it has become more popular and common. I think it is a nice thing for people who like it to do in events, fan meetings.

It’s art and expression of deep appreciation for something that one enjoys. Just like in all things some people can take it too far. I’ve seen many people have a lot of fun with it though and are very creative.

We used to go to a lot of renaissance fairs and comicon’s. My daughters enjoyed it immensely.

I wouldn't do it mainly cause I don't like being in prosthetics.. But I took stage makeup in college, so I almost had some appreciation for it.

I used to follow a series of cosplay videos that often featured characters from Gravity Falls for example and sometimes a live-action Mr. Baldi. They were very entertaining, and they kept the cosplaying at a fun level. :)
