Is it fashionable to wear a crop top that actually shows the belly button?

This is the kind of crop top she has in mind.

I'm 18 years old, my girlfriend is also 18, though she's a few months older than me. But anyway, I'm asking this on her behalf, since she was curious about the topic but didn't have a G@G account or anything.

From what we heard a crop top is only supposed to be worn with high waisted shorts or pants, showing very little to no stomach, and definitely not the belly button.

However, my girlfriend is quite proud of her flat stomach that she's achieved through her diet and fitness routine, and wants to not so subtly show it off.

Obviously she wouldn't dress this way to professional or formal occasions, or if she wanted to be taken serious... but casual occasions like casual parties, walking around with friends, pools and beaches, lounging around, the mall, etc. And since she's pale as fuck, obvious extra sunscreen if it's outdoors.

I think it looks fine, but I don't know shit about fashion.

Well as you can see in the photo, she's the exact opposite of fat. :P She used to be when she was younger, but she worked hard and now she has a flat stomach! I'd say she definitely has the privilege to!

I don't know that it would necessarily garner stares or anything if she were to wear it like that, but 99% of the time when you see a girl wearing a crop top, it will be with high-wasted pants that at least go up to right below the bellybutton, if not totally cover it.

Crop tops are great. What I find absolutely unfashionable always and for everyone, is those damn, ugly AF high-waist pant/shorts/leggings that are so popular today. Absolutely horrible. She can wear a crop top with a bare belly showing. The other ways would be wearing a cami or tank top underneath. Another is wearing a t-shirt underneath (this is more for crop tops that show too much or if the person is very young).
