Why do people think my eyes are coloured contacts?

I have bright green eyes. Like greyish green. And really dark hair. And I’m half Asian but been told I look Latina. But people always ask if I’m wearing contacts or think they’re coloured contacts 😂 is it because they look unusual or fake?

Because it's unusual for pure Asians to have green eyes. Most Asians have brown eyes (blue and green eyes gene mutation originated in northern Europe).

If you have European ancestors, then it's completely normal, that you can have green eyes. But if you "look" more Asian than European some people might assume you're 100% Asian and think "Hey, Asians can't have green eyes, she must be wearing lenses". It's just very rare for Asians to have green eyes, so they might find to hard to believe.

Probably because those color eyes aren’t commonly seen with your features.
