I actually got one place to change their dress code!
We're up on the 28th floor in a huge completely sealed off room. There's a central column where the stairs and elevators are, other than that, it's basically all one huge room. Part of my job was to move the work around the floor from one area to the next. We were processing tax checks for the IRS. In as such, women could wear short skirts but guys were not allowed to wear shorts. I busted my ass up there running all this stuff all over the floor! I even got the first award handed out by our new boss for the hard work I did up there when he decided to start handing out awards for the work we did. I never expected to get ANY and was the first one on his list!
Well, as you can imagine, with at least 100 people on that floor and no windows that could be opened because they were afraid someone could throw checks out the window to someone below, it got hot up there, for me! Especially with the ceilings being a couple inches above my head! So, I asked one of the supervisors if I could wear shorts. They said, no. I asked her if I could wear a short skirt like the women on the floor. She said, "There's nothing in the dress code that says you can't and, if you do, I'll back you up!". So, the next day, I came in wearing a short black skirt, nothing fancy or flashy, just a plain black skirt, slightly flared. It took about 20:00 but, eventually the bosses told me I couldn't wear it and would have to put pants on. The super still stuck by me, though. However, nearly every woman on that floor, and nearly all of them were black (including the super!); the very people I thought would make fun of it, said that they approved of it and, when I changed into pants, THEY all said it was discrimination and I should fight it and take it to court, or something like that! Tempting idea but, I didn't want to stir shit.
Well, the very next day, HR added to the male dress code that no skirts were allowed!!
Wow that's funnt! Did the HR hate you or something? Did you just quit after that? It seems a bit unfair that the guys have to die of heat stroke lol
Thank you but, I''d already been used to wearing a similar skirt on stage for the previous 15 years. No, HR was still cool, they just didn't see that as an option they had to cover in the dress code until they met me!
No, I stayed with them for another 3 years. In fact, I'd just been hired by them from the temp agency that I'd already been working there through the previous year or two.
Yeah, it IS unfair!! I see NO reason why men can't wear skirts ANYTIME they want to! We used to do it all the time about 1000 years ago and some cultures still do!! And, it's kinda the same with bikes! Does it seem fair to YOU that one with the balls gets the one with the bar across the middle? Okay, I understand that they bent the bar on a girl's bike to make room for her skirt but, how many girls today still wear a skirt or dress when they ride a bike? And, why is it okay for girls to wear pants but not for guys to wear skirts.
Their thing with not letting us wear shorts was that we could slip checks up under our shorts and steal them which doesn't make ANY sense at all, to me!! If I stole a check, how the hell am I gonna cash the damned thing when it's made out to the IRS? Do I just endorse it on the back by writing IRS and everyone at the bank will believe that's my name? Even if I DON'T have an account there and they don't know me at all, they're gonna WANT proof that IRS is my name!!
Anyway, after 4 years of their incredible paranoia, I just couldn't take it anymore and was just about to quit when they fired me anyway for showing up late a couple times. I think it was because they knew I'd been seeing a lot of strange shit going on!! A couple weeks after they fired me, most of my bosses got arrested for trying to steal millions of dollars worth of checks, anyway!! The FBI even came to my house to ask me about it!
A man in a skirt... just stop.
@KrakenAttackin You never saw women in pants? D'y'ever see, "Ben Hur"? "Caligula"?
there's no dress code. Not saying its right but people judge on your appearance. If two engineers walk into a high profile meeting, one wearing flip flops, sporting a man bun and earrings; the other wearing a jacket, tucked in button down shirt, dress slacks and shined shoes, without knowing their background or experience, who are you more likely to trust to know what they are doing?
You hop on a commercial flight and you see the captain, a female aviator, in a low cut miniskirt dress, would you think they are the pilot?
In some jobs perhaps, appearance matters.
I’m a teacher and the dress code at my school is what could be called “business casual”. No T-shirts unless it’s a special spirit day or your position at the school allows it (gym teacher, for example). No shorts, skirts, or dresses that are more than 2 inches above the knee, no sleeveless tops or tank tops.
The male teachers typically wear golf shirts or button up shirts (some even put on a tie, though it’s not required), and the female teachers typically wear blouses, button up shirts, or tops like in your 3rd and 4th photo.
We’re allowed to wear jeans and sneakers, though. We really just need to remember that we are setting an example for students and we need to look professional and put together. These standards were upheld when we were working from home as well, especially since many parents would also be able to see us on the screen!
Yes. They have the company's shirt for employees and employers to wear. We have to wear normal-colored khakis, blue khakis or black khakis, though I didn't hear one of the managers who were telling me what to wear, say 'black khakis.' I did ask her if I could wear black pants because I've seen the workers there wear black plain pants; she said I can wear them. I don't have black jeans, thank goodness because she said that we can't wear jeans. We can wear whatever shoes, except for slides, crocs, etc. Though I would think if you're working in a space that would most likely have spills or any liquids on the floor, they would have to wear slip-resistance shoes and I have those because I used to work at a fast-food restaurant. To be honest, I kinda miss working there.

Nope, we just have to be nicely put together but I heared that the bosses are thinking about uniforms...
Cute legs.
I was a motor vehicle damage field adjuster/appraiser for 30 years. At first the attire had to be a shirt and tie. But ties got in the way and got dirty. After about five years, the company went with golf shirts that had the logo embroidered on them. We could order five a year for free with a variety of colors to choose from. We could buy more if we wanted to for a very nominal price. They were much more practical than ties.
We could wear any kind of pants, including denim, but not Levis style. Girls would wear pants or skirts. We had to wear decent shoes, not sneakers or running shoes.
Business casual. Khaki pants and tucked in colored shirts.
I'd say those skirts are way too short for most professional settings. I'd question what is wrong with woman's common sense and character that she'd even have the desire in her heart to show off that much skin at work and to sexualize the work environment so acutely. Is her character flaw to get male attention and to be "seen" to misguided that she can't even do her job without having to show off her bare legs and tits with little skin tight tops?
Actually, you look fantastic in every damn outfit you were wearing. I am pretty sure that you are one of those people that whatever you put on looks great because I think you probably have a fantastic personality and could pull anything off... now that's just my opinion... Keep the faith and be safe...
Aw thanks! :)
Well not really but since I have meet powerful clients who are rich business to low grade actors and mid level politicians I have to be a bit professional I can't go in a t shirt and shorts in my office
I need a full sleeves shirt and a jeans at minimum
A tie and a jacket when I am meeting high level people
We never had dress codes or uniforms but this news reporter who tells the weather on this one channel located out of Pittsburgh Pa USA wears this short dress and high heels I'm surprised they haven't come down on her cause it doesn't look appropriate after all she is standing in front of millions of people on TV watching
Well all i am allowed to wear at work is a micro skirt, heels, garter and nipples pasties...
And strictly disallowed to wear anything else be it a top or bra or panties
@elizamichale1 You're a stripper?
@YesIWouldLikeFries yes darling i am a stripper, lap dancer and professional prostitute
@elizamichale1 What's the difference between a professional prostitute and a non-professional?
@elizamichale1 I love your hair. Those curls 😍
@YesIWouldLikeFries lol i dont know any technicalities tbh maybe @clubmanager can help...
N well u can skip the professional part n read i m a prostitute... Better? Hehe
@YesIWouldLikeFries hehe ok
@elizamichale1 @YesIWouldLikeFries mate the difference is this that a whore working from street with no care and management is just a whore/prostitute but a whore working in a professional environment with an establishment having all the care and management is a professional whore/prostitute that is the reason @elizamichale1 is a professional whore/prostitute
@clubmanager hehe thanks for explaining
So @YesIWouldLikeFries now u know
Yeah, I just started working off the farm and got a factory job.
This is what what our uniforms kinda look like
Sort of… business casual office work. But they haven’t enforced it since before Covid so most people have slowly changed to casual with jeans.
I like the white lace up shoes (?) in the second picture.
No dress code here. Those are some very striking outfits.
Thank you!
We don't have a uniform but we have a certain dress code that we have to adhere to. Like no mini skirts or extra tight pants , capris or tight shirts.. you get my drift
The dress code is: clothes you don't mind getting ruined and clothes that are comfortable. My work clothes consists of overwashed clothes that are ready to be thrown out due to wear and yoga pants.
Been working remote for two years so I could work naked if I so choose, as our Zoom meetings are always audio only.
Before that didn't really have a code - jeans and t were fine. Some places I could wear shorts, though because the AC was cranked because of all the computers it usually wasn't comfortable to do so. One guy used to come in looking like he just got back from the beach.
My work uniform was basically colour coded under garments we bought with our own money and an outer covering provided by our employer.
That turtleneck and blazer outfit looks great! I work at a salon and we have a dress code of all black, black leather (vegan leather for vegans) pants and black sweater. Men just wear black t-shirts and black slacks.
These are nice, but damn you show a lot of leg for work. Do you work mostly with women?
Lol not really it's an even mix
Sheesh, you need to stop shopping at the thrift store.
Or at least wear clothes that don't look like they were all you could find fitting in the neighbours trash.
Have some style and self respect.
Yes, sadly.
In inpatient i could wear scrubs.
Outpatient, sadly not.
Black pants, work top, apron and a hair covering of some sort
I mostly work in a hoodie and sweatpants. I work from home on my pc.
YES, a business suit when im in the office, that is only 3 days a week. if im working from home. i could be anything or nothing..
Well, it's mostly suit and tie cause i am an accountant and I think it’s important to relay professionalism and competence in your style for your clients. Oh, yeah we are also allowed business casuals on Fridays
Nope I get to wear whatever the fuck I want. Its awesome. I'm thinking of wearing my Cradle of Filth shirt to work lol. It would trigger so many people hahaha!
I am an attorney. If I am going to court or meeting with a client, I wear a suit and tie. If I have no court appearances or meetings with clients, I wear business casual attire.
Massage Therapist's traditional garb - polo shirt, docker style pants.
Or scrubs if you are employed in a doc's office.
Your outfits and your shape are 👍👌😘 for me to wear suite but shirt must be White.
My girlfriend as wear uniform, transparent white shirt, must be two unbuttoned, black mini skirt with waistline jacket.
I’m The vice president of my Company general contractor we have everything in our business white collar clothes and blue collar clothes
Yes, it's a professional business office, so men are expected to be in suit and tie. Women must wear a dress, skirt or suit, with heels and hoseiry.
I have them but I refuse to wear them. They are uncomfortable and cold in the winter and don't breathe in the summer.
I'm self-employed so not really beyond what I chose day to day based on what is practical
We just have to wear comfortable clothes that don’t expose us (I work with kids)
We have a dress code of sorts. You can't wear stuff with holes in it or look too incept and can't show too much skin.
nope. i work in a creative environment, there's no need to dress up haha
I'm self employed so I can wear what i like too. I go the smart but casual route.
you are such a tease... lol I love the outfits... ;)
I had one but I never wore it tbh and they didn't care as long as you are sweating
Yes we have a dress code... although some employees don't follow it. I work around lots of children so I can't wear anything inappropriate.
We have a dress code, but my personal dressing preferences are much more strict.
I show up in street clothes. They really don't care. The higher ups tend to dress up, because they feel it looks more professional but, for my job, it doesn't matter.
Your legs are like a flamingo , so I wouldn't show then as much , but I am self employed , so I can wear whatever I want. Now , I have worked second part time jobs and had rules.
No, but low cut tops and short skirts get me more tips
@Anonymous This is what we mean by equality. Women have this advantage that men don't. Simply by existing you can earn more money.
That’s a large variety of dresses 😂 but they look good
I don’t work but we have uniforms in my school
Mine does and I'm glad. It's a dirty job, but pays quite well.
Whatever I went to bed in. Most times, nothing at all.
Surprised a few doordashers.
We have school uniforms here.
I like your third outfit and your shoe in the 4th picture my advice i would like you in ankle length dresses.
Yes, safety is important; so if it isn't covered by our PPE we need to cover it up with our clothes.
Those are kinda short skirts. I'd be perving.
Yup I'm expected to dress well for my job.
I have a work uniform of sorts.
No dress code in my company
There was a dress code, but not a uniform.
No skirts above the knees in a work environment.
The last one looks very chic and summery
Nah we don’t really have a uniform or anything.
I'm a nurse, so i have a uniform
Uniform? no. Dress code? yes, business casual.
Other than a hard hat and steel toe boots no
No so I wear sweats and so do many others.
I like 2nd pic and last one too
