So I have been wearing fake tan for a couple of years now, because I was tired of being pale however I am aware my tone is on the orange side but I like it its my thing and I like the fact I glow. But in work and friends call me things such as "Donald Trump", "Dorito dust" , "Chedder feet" and it winds me up now because people find it amusing and I feel like I am missing something cos I dont get the joke?
So most women do things that complement their natural beauty. The fake tan thing kind of has a way of not doing that, because its so obviously not natural. For example I do not find big Triple-D sized fake tits sexy. It so obvious that they are fake it distracts from the women's over all beauty... and since it is so obvious that they are fake it actually makes a larger statement about her as a person. Because at some point she really felt that having big fake boobs would make her feel better about her self in a way that's sad to people.
So the truth is that these people are not being nice to you, they are not laughing with you they are laughing at you. Because your fake tan is so obviously fake that you stand out in all the the wrong ways and it doesn't make you more attractive because it distracts from you natural skin tone and look.
I mean its like someone intentionally having a bad hair cut because they like it and they think it makes them look good, when it so obvious to other people that its just a terrible hair cut. Or when some try to dy their hair red and it looks more like a purplish color, or someone just has no idea how to wear or put on make up right. That is the joke and what makes it funny is that you are not getting it, which honestly is super mean and not right. But for the most part fake tans are fake for a reason... and people can tell. So in doing it your making a statement about yourself that might not be your intent.
Is it spray tan? Cause if so I recommend a tanning bed or something
Live your life in freedom. If you like the way you look, that's all that should matter. Remind your abusers that Donald Trump was once the most powerful man on Earth. I'm not a Trump fan personally but it has ZERO to do with the color of his skin. I judge him on his character. But others like his character. And those people saw that he was orange and that didn't stop them from voting for him. Judging people based on skin color is bigoted and wrong.

Fake tans don't serve much of a purpose, just be who you really are with your natural skin. If others don't care, who cares about their opinions?

Nothing wrong with being pale. I say get rid of the fake tan.
