What's the difference between a kilt and a stereotypical Catholic schoolgirl skirt? Do we really deem one "exceedingly masculine" and the other "exceedingly feminine" simply because one has pleats only in the back? That seems VERY silly to me.
Fundamentally, pants serve one purpose and one purpose alone: making horse (or bike or motorcycle) riding more comfortable. And, later on in time, making it safer to work around powered machinery. Beyond that, they're kind of absurd. The Romans mocked my Celtic ancestors for wearing pants; but they caved. And nowadays, it's pretty much just Celts (and Arabs, and certain Africans) who still bother with garments that aren't bifurcated.
That said, since most skirts nowadays are made for women, they're DESIGNED for them as well, and shaped and patterned accordingly; they're generally not going to look good on men anyway.
I never got any complaints about the shape of my skirts. And, there ARE a number of companies out there making skirts for men!! I think, the biggest reason you rarely ever see any is that they're SO FUCKING EXPENSIVE!!! And, for the most part, they don't look casual, either!
It can look nice, depends on the skirt. Some are made fitted to only curvy hips, so you only really pull them off if you have an hourglass figure. I have a couple skirts that are more neutral like in the picture, so anyone could wear them okay.
Those are the kind I tend to wear. An elastic band and a drape hanging from it.

I'm perfectly fine with it! I've been doing it since 1985! If women can wear pants, why shouldn't guys wear skirts? We used to, a few hundred years ago. Scots and guys in other cultures still do!!
I think tight pants generally fit the shape of a man's hips and legs better than skirts - but i dont really care either way, people can wear what they want to
Even though I'm queer I don't necessarily find it attractive. But then again, it wouldn't necessarily be the dress that's influencing my opinion, but whose #under the dress lol.
If my boyfriend did drag I would support him, sure. But I mean, men in dresses don't turn me on, no lol.
I wear a kilt a fair bit.
I’m fine and comfortable wearing it.
Gaaaaaay... put on a kilt.
What's the difference?
Hell yeah dude let's bring it back into style
I'm trying.
@FunkyMonkee
I’m with you been wearing a skirt now on a daily basis for about 8 months. Just find it so comfortable
@Wingy I did it for decades but, mostly on stage. Sometimes, my girlfriend would take an afternoon walk with me while I was in a skirt or, we'd go over to the library and hang out under a tree and study together in the sun. I used to always walk home (about 10 miles) with the skirt on after gigs and even through some of the roughest neighborhoods at 3 or 4 a. m. and never had any trouble with it! A few times, I even wore it to work and, in all those times, only got shit from one black guy in line behind me at the store before I got to work! Funny how they can wear the most outlandish things you've ever seen but, if a white guy wears ANYTHING out of the norm, guess who's the FIRST one to pick on them about it!! They'd even pick on me when I WAS wearing normal stuff!!
Stupid is what it is.
I prefer to see men in pants.
No way, but I wear panties
its weird
