Umm the topic is Fashion and beauty I don't know why it went under sexuality
I love wearing my veil but umm here in America people have a very bad staring problem when they see something that they probably don't see that often and i feel weird when so many people staring at me when i am just doing my own thing and not bothering anyone 🥹

I would not react in any particular way. My city of Geneva, Switzerland, is famously international and we do not judge people for an outfit that is not typical for Europe.

I took part in demonstrations against the mandatory hijab in Iran, but it's the choice that counts. Women must be free to either wear a veil or not, whichever they choose.

Nothing. There were many Muslims in my high school, and I’m even friends with a few of them. Some of them wear hijabs while others don’t. I don’t pay much attention to anyone’s clothes, if I like their personality, I’d be friends with them.

I’m seeing a lot of passive aggressive comments here and those who find your traditional clothing “weird” can fuck off. To the guy saying this looks “ridiculous”, looks like he graduated from YouTube university. Some stupid people and their lack of decorum has always shocked me.

I think when I talk to someone wearing a veil I make more eye contact to understand her emotions. It doesn’t bother me what anyone else wears. I think there is some controversy with if it’s the woman’s own choice to wear it unfortunately so that might explain some of the staring. People staring might be just curious rather than hateful at seeing something unusual.

Anyone who is honest with themselves knows that feminine and masculine attraction is different. And as long as feminine beauty is on display a woman can never be treated in a non sexual way which is bad for her and damages the relationship she might have with her husband even if she hasn't met him yet.

I'm not a Muslim but I get it. In my culture the closest thing is women who wear long dresses that don't show everything. I always prefer those women to the ones who dress very sexually.

no, there were quite a few where I used to live... I assume they were people whom escaped Afghanistan and Iraq around when the USA disrupted the place. But, the ones with veils on were with men, and the men were very controlling to anyone looking at their women.
The women not covered whom were clearly middle east, I talked to a few and were interesting. One said she just wanted to go home, to Syria... another Iraq.
What concerns me is a story in California where a girl was kidnapped and only way she was found was her captor took her for free food at pantry, covered up. someone suspected trouble and sent police... she was being controlled and abused. sad.
Really gotta watch out for women, abused children... we don't know whom is being abused or if it is by their own desire/commitment to their values. that's the problem with "veils"... whats going on under the veil?

I’ve known several Muslim women who dressed modestly and wore a head scarf, some I worked with, but the full on hijab is just not ever going to be accepted in the culture I’m from. Just as seeing a woman wearing a bikini and short shorts probably wouldn’t be acceptable in your culture—I assume.
