Is there a way to prevent this so I use less shampoo?
I rinse my hair to get it as wet as possible for at least 1 minute. Should I do it for longer?

There are a few reasons why you need more shampoo the first time you wash your hair:
1. Hair buildup. Your hair accumulates oils, dirt, styling products and other buildup between washes. All that buildup needs to be cleared away with sufficient shampoo the first time you wash.
2. Lathering. Shampoo needs time to work up a lather and loosen all that initial buildup. That requires using more of the product the first time to generate enough suds.
3. Rinsing. The first rinse rarely clears away all the dirt and oils. Some buildup remains that needs to be addressed with the second application of shampoo.
4. Saturation. Your hair is drier before the initial wash, so it takes more shampoo to fully saturate all the strands and follicles.
To minimize how much shampoo you need in total:
• Focus the bulk of the first wash lather on your roots and scalp, where most of the oils accumulate. Avoid excessively saturating the lengths.
• Really scrub your scalp and massage your roots with the first application, to break up as much buildup as possible.
• Rinse thoroughly after the first wash to remove loosened buildup before shampooing again.
• For the second wash, apply a lighter layer of lather that primarily coats the lengths of your hair, not down to your roots. This helps "refresh" the strands without over-lathering.
• Make sure to rinse very well after the second wash to remove all traces of shampoo before conditioning.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Your hair is greasy and it takes more shampoo the wash it off. The second time is less because there is less grease.
Maybe cause hair grows and there's more hair? 🤣
I mean when I wash twice in one session
Try conditioner first then shampoo?
Does that work?
No idea but it might ha
