I really hate wearing my shoes all day and the carpet in the library is so sweet
I did it within the last year.
Normally I put on shoes when I go somewhere, but I am almost always barefoot at home during the warm seasons. Every now and then I don't bother putting on shoes when I go somewhere.
As far as I know there is no rule saying I need to wear shoes at my local library. Or most other paces for that matter. When I was young I went everywhere barefoot... driving, stores, college, restaurants, etc.
I still go for walks barefoot. I even jog barefoot at night.
People don't realize that going barefoot is a lot more healthy. Wearing shoes all the time really messes up your feet and ankles. It's especially bad for babies and toddlers. It causes their feet and legs to not develop properly.

That’s gross. Don’t you care about walking on all the dirt and possibly smeared shit or fecal matter on the floor? Not even in my house I walk barefoot. I go in socks. Because even then there’s dust. Must be a white person thing.
Just cut the bottom of your shoes, so they don’t notice it
