Do you like traditional chinese dresses?

Unless I'm barking up the wrong tree, the two words don't mean exactly the same thing... mostly because I've seen male outfits referred to also as "cheongsam" but the term "qipao" only ever seems to refer to that very specific style of female clothing. BUT it could just be circumstantial. I've got a half-Cantonese friend I could ask if it helps...

I really like Qi Pao a lot because it is so nicely fitted. I also like the slit on the side, and its colors … it’s very elegant. Goes really well with Zhongshan suit as a couple to dress up to events. Lovely.
