Is it really necessary to pierce a baby girl's ears?

I really hate when the baby girl starts out ok, even smiling to suddenly cause unneccessary pain. Then she starts crying so badly.

I understand if a baby needs to get vaccinated. Even it's still sad to see a baby crying, that's at least needed for their own health.

But piercing a baby's ears are just for accessories. Is that really needed?

Nope. Better to do it around age 4/5 if you really insist on having her ears pierced. With it you start telling her that this is a sign that she's a young lady heading to school, blah blah blah. (Use it to reinforce more mature behavior as she enters into the school-age circles instead of being home 24/7.)
