My daughter surmised me when she got a nose ring after a year in college. I wasn't crazy about it, but I didn't say anything, I just thought about how much it must have hurt her (it did). I was disappointed but today, she doesn't wear it anymore. She also cut her own hair to my shock! She looked good (Audrey Hepburn type of haircut) but her hair had been so long, that and the fact that shew lost a lot of weight --she looked like a different person altogether. Now her hair is the same, short, but the nose ring is gone.

I mean depends... You can't get a tongue piercing here under the age of 16 without parents permission and most reputable places will not do it under 18 at all. If they were over 18 that's their choice to do it without telling me though I would like to know. Either way I'd like to know, it's a piercing that can come with a lot of risks that I'd like them to be aware of beforehand. At the end of the day a piercing will close up so it's not a big deal to me. My kids can have whatever age appropriate piercings they want within reason.

Tongue piercings are just freakish. If their upbringing was so flawed that my kids thought it was ok to mutilate their bodies, I failed years ago.

It's difficult enough for young people to succeed in today's highly competitive economy, why would anyone want to needlessly handicap themselves?

My daughter had a fake Septum piercing; I had my Septum pierced because of that and shortly after my daughter had hers done properly.

I do like my piercings... but they can be annoying too, getting stuck on every piece of clothing I pull over my head; my 10mm flesh tunnels are occasionally being pulled through my earlobes; and I keep losing O-rings.

Tattoos are definitely my thing too. Nearly the whole right side of my body is covered in Tribal Motif now, only my lower leg needs to be coloured in (the 20th of August) and my right foot needs to be done. Then back, side, and front are done... Work can start on the left side. I am aiming for 90% coverage, possibly my head included (just the Tribal Motif... no pictures or something).

I've spend about £4500 in 3 years time; £3500 in the past 2 years.
