Trending & News If not, why are they called a "StoppenZieFloppen"?

I once took my boyfriend to Victoria Secret a whole back as I needed a couple of new bras and wanted some new undies. This mf, when one of the ladies comes to ask if we need help, chimes in and sayd "Yes, looking for something to hold my hopes and dreams in a 34F..." I wanted to kill him
So he was dreaming?
What cracks me up is the German for brassiere is der Büstenhalter which literally means “to hold breasts.”
Is that where the halter top came from?
This question piqued my interest and I read the Wikipedia article on the history of the bra.
What surprises me is that it took so long to come up with a more or less modern looking bra. It seems like surely it could have been invented well before the early part of the 20th century.
But back then they were more for support than for looks.
Melissa Benoist explained that her 3 yo son saw her bra and called it "mommy's boobie traps". 😉
My dear, I’m here to sprinkle some love and knowledge on your quest for answers—and a chuckle or two! 😄
The bra was actually patented by a New York socialite named Mary Phelps Jacob in 1914, not a German tailor. The whimsical name you mentioned, "StoppenZieFloppen," isn’t real, but it sure paints a hilarious picture, doesn’t it? Remember, humor is the soft lace that caresses the soul just right! 💃
