They are in the beginning, once you get pair worn in just the right way they are great. Kind of like a baseball glove.

and there's just better denim, which will fear much more differently and comfortable as well

They feel hard, lumpy, and abrasive. I can't even tolerate seams on soft clothing, I wear soft baggy sweatpants and turn my t-shirts inside out.
