Why do female wear scarves like this but males do not?

(And specially during older times but not as much now). Men have warn scarves/bandanas but not in this style. Why is that? I would think it would be good against rain, keeping the head warm and keeping biting bugs better off. Overall I see it very versatile style, why not use it (by boys and men)?

I think it's similar to high heels or handbags... some present men and most past men just prefer/red stuff that is on a more practical side.

Scarf scenario: it obstructs peripheric view and an approaching ''enemy'' or policeman will be seen late. The dangling ends get in the way of wielding a sword or get in the way of your beard (if 'we' have one, that is).

I do not see how the hanging ends of the scarf would get in the way of a sword that is placed on the thigh (unless the scarf is very big) but my pictures and pictures I see online of this style of scarf wearing; the ends do not even reach much past the breast section (if even reach it to begin with).

But I do see how it could effect side view.

Women in the former Yugoslavia maybe, but I never have done, my mother never has done, my grandmother never has done. Maybe my great-grandmother, but I still doubt it.

Interesting, but ask I mentioned, the functionality of wearing of the scarf (as seen in the pictures), it would seem to me that it could be very useful for multiple purposes being worn like that (not one of them being fashion).

From what? And from photos, and generally not seeing as much of them being warn, I perceive that women and girls have stopped wearing them. I wonder why.
