As a non Chinese, I will probably be celebrating Chinese new year, and I was thinking of wearing a Chinese dress, but would it be seen as cultural appropriation…..

This is what's messed up about our world. Our country, social media is everything. Nowadays, you have to ask permission. Are you don't want to upset somebody? Because in their country , they wear dresses like that , they wear them here too

this is where the sad truth comes out and their racism is exposed. Chinese can come and become Americans and dress how they want. But you cannot become Chinese ever, but because you are in the West, you can play how you want.

That is why when you go to China, they want to come to the West.

But of course culture is not a one size fit all thing. If you're unsure not just for the chinese clothing, it's still better to ask directly from the people or experts from that culture if it's ok.

Even when it isn't a special occasion you can wear it and it is fine. Cultural appropriation is just a bs term liberals use only because they hate White people.
