I travel around the world often, and I enjoy learning about and even experiencing other cultures. A few months ago, I visited Tanzania and stayed with the Maasai tribe for 24 hours, and I was gifted a handmade bracelet and, of course, I cherish it very much. I was going to wear it out, but my sister told me not to because it's cultural appropriation and that it wouldn't make sense for an Asian to be wearing African jewelry.
I am a liberal and I am telling you: Cultural Appropriation = BULLSHIT.
The entire 12000 years of the Holocene epoch have involved humans learning from and adopting from other humans. That has happened everywhere on Earth since the dawn of humans.
As long as you don't physically harm others, do whatever you want.

It was literally gifted to you by the tribe. So, it's not cultural appropriation at all. It's silly for your sister to speak on behalf of the tribe. That's more harmful than you wearing the jewelry.
Wear anything you want to wear. Cultural appropriation is not real and a made up term
People have been taking ideas from different cultures for thousands of years
I have some is the same jewelry and 99% of people are not going to know anything about it. It is not cultural appropriation. Enjoy wearing your special jewelry!
