When I was 36 and working as a motor vehicle damage field adjuster/appraiser, I had to drive around all day to inspect wrecked cars at homes, wrecking yards and auto body shops.

There was a lady who worked at one of the shops I visited regularly. She was a damage estimator and I had to negotiate with her on repair costs. She always maintained a no nonsense demeanor.

She was 30 years old, short and really cute but wore strange outfits. They looked like something an older woman would wear. Feminine but not sexy at all. I think she was trying to look professional.

At some point, I asked her out and we wound up getting along great. Things progressed quickly and I soon started living at the house she was renting with two room mates. I basically brought over some clothes and necessities but kept my apartment with all my stuff and went there when necessary to get more clothes or whatever.

I found out that she bought her clothes at a particular boutique. They knew her well and would call her when they got something in that they thought she would like.
I went there with her a couple of times.
She would buy an entire outfit - skirt, blouse, jacket and matching accessories. They weren't business suits. They weren't youthful and hip. But they weren't ugly. They were just distinctive and a bit odd. At least that was my impression..

She always wore heels, too, and had lots of shoes.

The first time I spent the night with her and she removed her clothes piece by piece to gradually reveal herself, I was blown away. Those outfits made her look kind of matronly. But beneath them, her 5'1" body was my highest possible standard of excellence.

From then on, I adored her work outfits.

No, I remember a girl that worked in an office where I was trying to get a job. I'd filled out an application and I'd go back and check now and then. She'd always have this necklace that hung way down past her waist. Every time I went there she'd have it on. I didn't think much about it at the time but I've never seen any woman wear a necklace like that since. I've never even seen a necklace like that since.

I'm actually the one with "unique sense" but it's usually me matching or more precisely mismatching items from various thrift shops. I've been told I look like a gothic, flower child who's learning to dress herself.

And in winter my only style is my pink flannel jammies.

No, I didn't. I've known and still know some eccentrically quirky people, though. I've been told that I am completely eccentric and a nerd by my girlfriends, too. I wasn't offended, but I found it interesting that I'm probably as mad as the rest of my group... lol.

More than once. I am very conservative in dress. I have dated women who were into vintage, like over-the-top full 1940's style, and others who were basically punk.
