Is this weird or I’m overthinking it about my stylist’s husband?

My stylist is cool, she has her own salon. Sometimes, her husband helps her. After they finished up blowing drying my hair. I asked to get a mirror to see the back of my hair… and I said it looks nice. Her husband was there and said “yeah, it’s sexy.” I’m like 😳 feelin awk and speechless. My stylist immediately punched her husband. Then, off I go after that awk conversation and paying.

And the sad part is is her husband was saying my wife created that look she did a good job that's what he was saying it was sexy it is sexy

But the stylist looking at you seeing a beautiful woman of course she takes it the wrong way and that's sad she heard it the way she wanted to hear instead of the way that he said it and meant it

And of course he was also trying to give you a compliment at the same time and for doing too good deeds he's the one that gets hit LOL poor guy

When you're in a relationship and you're walking through the mall holding hands what have you and a girl walks by and you're looking at her and you might not even be looking at her you might be looking at her clothes or her hair and your girlfriend's going to get mad because you're looking and that's ridiculous he's not thinking he wants to jump her bones there's something about her that intrigues him

I've been kind of Lucky with girlfriends because they know I'm going to look they know if I'm looking it's because there's something to grab my attention it's not that I want to jump their bones

It's because they look unique somehow whether it's their clothes or hairstyle or they're wearing something that nobody else wears that makes me look it makes me curious so I feel bad for that poor guy he was doing the right thing and he was telling the truth that she took it wrong and you couldn't really say much because you don't want to get in the middle of that LOL so it's kind of funny I think

Oh for crap's sake. The guy was trying to pump up a customer's ego. Send her out the door feeling good about her hairstyle. What's he supposed to say, nah looks like shit to me. Or yeah, whatever, looks OK. That'll be 50 bucks.

This is on a level of a waitress flirting for tips. Don't read anything more into it.

This is also why I almost never give even minor validation or compliments to women. You all overthink everything. I said your hair looks nice tonight or that dress looks hot on you. End of story. That does not mean I want to date you, LOL. There's nothing more to unravel.

You’re not overthinking it, that was awkward and inappropriate on his part. Calling your hair “sexy” in that context crosses a boundary, especially in a professional setting. Your stylist punching him shows she knew it was out of line too. If you keep going there, you’re totally valid to mention you didn’t like that comment or decide you prefer appointments when he’s not around.
