Am I overthinking or is my husband being suspicious?

My husband work out of town Monday-Friday and comes home early Saturday morning. This morning we were on the phone talking and the hotel receptionist walked by the car and they started talking. They talked for like 10 minutes and I could here the entire conversation clearly up until the point she asks if he’s going back to his room he responded “yeah I have to go pack…” then the phone went completely silent for about two minutes. Then he casually unmutes me and says sorry I accidentally muted you. I’m usually not the jealous type and I usually trust him 100%. But I don't know if it’s hormones (I’m 8 weeks postpartum) or if I’m just seeing stuff that’s not there

No you aren’t overthinking , That honestly sounds a little shady to be honest with you , that all of a sudden he mutes you for 2 minutes when he was talking to that girl. It’s like he didn’t want you to hear what she had to say or what he had to say , so for it to be a coincidence , is very unlikely. I know you don’t really have solid evidence , but moving forward , keep an extra eye on his actions and behaviors without him knowing you are being suspicious, because if he is up to no good , and he knows you are on to him , he will cover his tracks even more making it harder for you to bust him. Sadly this sort of thing happens more than we like to think it does when a partner travels to work or goes away for weeks at a time. They look at it has an opportunity to be up to no good , because they know their partner isn’t with them and they know they can get away with shit. I have witnessed this sort of thing happening a lot in relationships, Guys’ and Girls’ being up to no good when they are away from their partner for weeks at a time , whether it’s for work or leisure. I actually dated and had sex with a girl for 6 months not knowing she was married because her husband traveled a lot for work , so she was able to play me good and had me believe she was single when really she wasn’t. Her husband eventually came knocking on my door, when he suspected she was up to no good. I honestly felt bad for the guy but I told him the truth that I had no clue she was married whatsoever. When I use to go away on vacations with friends’ I would meet girls’ that were on their girls’ trips that were looking to have a good time , not realizing they had husbands’ and boyfriends’ at home that they were cheating on. I am not saying everyone does this , but a mass majority of people do because most people in general are selfish people , that only truly care about themselves , they do not factor in their partners’ feelings all the time , especially when an opportunity arises. and they can’t resist temptations. Why I no longer rush into relationships with girls’ because I had my heart shit on to many times by selfish girls’ that only want what’s they feel is best for themselves. So I pray your husband isn’t doing this shit behind your back , but for your own sanity. Definitely keep an eye on his actions and behaviors. When he goes away on these work trips , does he call you on a regular basis , or does he go long periods of time without talking to you? When someone loves you they will contact you on a regular basis when they are apart from you , if they aren’t contacting you on a regular basis , that’s definitely a red flag to not overlook

Yes I can completely understand being worried. Why would someone talking to their own wife have a full 10 minute conversation with the front desk clerk? Then mute the phone when talking about going back to the room. You’re not a idiot you can be trusting but that doesn’t mean you’re naïve.

I assume there is other things you have caught on to before but you didn’t want to see it or just excused it away. If he is cheating (there is plausible deniability) if he’s that brazen it’s probably not his first time once someone makes it obvious they probably did it a million times.

It’s the fact that cheaters tend to be on the darker personality side of things some worse then others. They believe that their partner is simply too stupid to figure it out therefore they deserve it. As well as naive enough to believe their lies. But most aren’t stupid they simply love and trust their partner as well as project their goodness onto them.

Cheaters project who they are and just think they need to cheat on you before you cheat on them. I would be concerned bring your concerns up to him directly.

If he reacts by gaslighting you even if you’re respectful. Rather then being glad you communicated and is able to explain what the situation was. That’s a major red flag. If he’s overly defensive over things.

The sad thing is dark personalities have to show you what they’re doing to you. It’s part of their sick thrill but leaving plausible deniability. So you never get closure and are always guessing

The only other sign that I noticed is that we haven’t had sex in over 10 weeks. (When I was in the last couple weeks of pregnancy I wasn’t aloud to have sex and after I delivered I had a few complications making it to where I am just now able to have sex) so I’m not even sure if that could be considered a sign or not.

It can be hard to say. Was it a doctor who told you not to have sex? Or your husband?

I don’t know I definitely think it’s reasonable to suspect something. Be direct and confront him and see how he responds

Two minutes is a long time to not realize you're muted, but there's always the possibility it's a coincidence. If you have no other suspicions, I would leave this one alone, but start quietly paying more attention.

That’s what I thought too. But my husband wasn’t even inside the hotel he was sitting in the car in the parking lot and walked by and they started talking. It all seemed like just a casual conversation up until the point when she asked if he was going back to his room
