I'm not going to show a picture of myself, but my hair was looking like Elon Musk from decades ago when he was balding. Receding, and thinning terribly at the front and top.

I've buzzed it down a lot and I feel I've got a really good shaped face and head for baldness 🤷‍♂️

Yes go for it. A full shaved head always looks better than balding. Shaved looks clean, intentional, disciplined, and a lot of times it doesn't even occur to people that the person was losing hair.
