Sometimes, guys can be hard to read. But just sometimes. They are usually easy to read compared to girls. No offense. So how do you tell the difference if he is flirting or just being nice?

1. Being touchy

When guys like a girl, they want to touch her. It's a physical affection that they can't resist.

2. Always smiling

He might smile all the time. That might be his character to put a smile on to his face. But if that smile stays on his face for a little bit longer, it might be a sign of flirting. He will smile most of the time he is with you to show that he is enjoying it.

3. Finding things in common

He will try to find things you two have in common. It can be interests, movies, music, anything. Because that's an easy way to build a connection.

4. He jokes about sex

He will bring up sex in his conversations in a joking way. He is trying to learn about your feelings and if you have any physical attraction for him or not by bringing that topic to the table.

If you are into him, don't just cut it off. Just laugh an change the subject gently. Or say something back in the same manner.

5. He teases you

If he teases you, there is a big chance that he likes you. He is just covering his feelings.

6. He stares at you

Staring is flirting, it's like testing the waters. Guys are really afraid of rejection. If you really wanna know get alone with him. Flirt a little and see what he does. Guys feel braver in a one on one situation. Maybe it's because if he does get shot down, there are other people there to see it. But you still have to make it pretty clear you want him to make a move.

The problem with women is that they want to be approached. They want you to make the first move. They want you to be a MAN. Now that you know that, all you have to do is pick up on the signs. Body language is key. If she squirms around when you say something or gently touch her (appropriately) and or smiles and tries to get away or laughs then there's a good chance that she wants you to chase her. Remember the hunt is half the fun but there comes a point where you have to make them hunt for or come after you. Never give them what the want right away. You will seem to obtainable and it won't be a challenge for them anymore.

I would say that it really depends on a situation you are in. If at least something from this list happens regularly then it is definitely flirting, but sometimes points like finding something in common or smiling all the time can be just being nice (e. g. to a coworker).

Point 1,3 and 6 are sure shot flirting! Point 2,4, 5 can be tricky, these could be sometimes just being nice or very friendly. In fact point 4 can be more than friendly, it could direct either towards love or just trying to be a friend with benefits. Point 7 is more than flirting, it can often head towards growing sincere love for the other.

In example #1 where the guy is touching the girls leg... she is a partner to the flirting. Her body is turned toward him, their legs are crossing over to the body space of the other. These two are definitely interested in hooking up with each other.
