I think it's a bit more about if you SEEM desperate. And yes, there is a bit to do with perception. One guy who is great with kids might be perceived as less valuable than a guy who is ok with kids, but, say, works out a lot.

But there are things you don't do... like... calling 3 times a day when you barely know each other is weird. Crying and begging for a date is desperate. Overly dramatic overtures for where you are in the relationship is desperate. Threatening a woman if she doesn't give in... desperate, and SO not cool. Literally following a woman, desperate. THAT would be "chasing" after a woman, and no, I'd assume that most mentally healthy women wouldn't want that.

A little pursuit, without coming across as desperate IF you're attractive to the girl and she doesn't get that a lot... might be ok. You shouldn't have to chase a girl down. It shouldn't be more of a hassle than it's worth to try to date a girl. Yes, you work to make yourself an awesome guy (you should do that anyway), yes she should think she's worth more than just being "easy." But it shouldn't be a struggle to get a date (in general). If you have to "chase" a woman, then she's not for you. Sure, be interested, but have enough of a life where a "no" won't devastate you. Don't put all your work into one woman until she proves that she's worth it (and until you're worth it, either).

Depends on the woman. Some like being chased or pursued cause it boosts their ego and makes them feel special or wanted. Others don't cause they prefer a little space to think things over or to just work out their feelings without feeling rushed.
For me personally, i like knowing that a guy has been thinking of me. I need to know that he's still interested. Cause what really kills a girls attraction to a guy is indifference.
Girls are just like guys, deep down they're afraid of being rejected. And i think most girls also have this awareness of being wanted sexually and being wanted for their personality and who they actually are. It's not a nice feeling for someone to say no, i'm not attracted to you. It feels worse when they're nice to you, sleep with you and then leave you cause while you're hot, your personality isn't good enough. Makes you feel like a shell, and no-one wants to feel like that. So if you're going to chase her, or compliment her make sure it's for who she is and not what she looks like.

it depends on the woman. usually most women like a medium of both chasing and being chased. if you never chase a girl, you might never get a girl as society dictates that men should do the chasing at first. this doesn't mean it's right, it means that there might be interested girls who you could have had a shot with but didn't because you didn't make the first move.

i like being chased. but eventually, to really get me, he has to stop at some point and let me come to him. if he chases first, the idea that he likes me will start sinking into my head and take time to develop. then when he stops, i'll want to check out what's up. what most guys fail to do is pick up i'm interested, and start chasing again. if they do that, then it's golden. the point is really to get inside their heads.

Some like it some hate it. I look at this way if you don't chase you loose her to someone else. Other girl's look at like a game making eachother jealous playing hard to get all that craziness. Yeah sure it looks fun but it's also wasting time you could have actually spent getting to know the person

Yeah pretty much, depending on the degree. Asking her to hang out with friends is great, & just one-on-one should maybe be kept more limited because you don't want to corner her. I always like it when a guy is initiative but makes me work for it at the same time.

I find, I like attention when we are getting to know each other. Cause feeling wanted always feels good. But once I start showing I'm into you, or attracted to you, and you stop giving me attention, I'll crave your attention more. But… there is a fine line. Eventually I'll get fed up and move on. ha!
