Am I the only one that can't tell when a guy is flirting with me?

I was wondering if this happens only to my clumsy self or not. For as long as I can remember, I have never been able to tell if a guy liked me, was being flirty or just friendly. It kind of freaks me out how little I can tell about a guy's interest. I tend to always come to the conclusion that ' he is just nice to everyone '. Even if my friends would share looks or even made - not so subtile - allusions, I am always genuinely surprised. Am I the only one out there in this big world who is unable to notice when a guy likes her?

Nope. I Am the same way. I guess i clearly got asked out two nights ago and didn't realize it till iasked my friend if I was reading this right. And she said uhh you clearly asked you out and it wasn't even hidden or anything. I said OH haha. I didn't even realize. Lol. So no it's not just you. Lol.

Me: we barley work together

But they were like in the middle of the messages. So he would say something then say those things lol.

Some guys are just really hard to read. I am having the same prob with my latest interest. He seems to be flirting sometimes (initiating physical contact) and others not necessarily talking to me. If I figure it out. I will share it with you.

Thank you. I agree. It seems for me they always tend to be hard to read - unlike people in general which I usually can read. It might be a 'trick'. Maybe they are actually just trying to make us confused. Or maybe not.

No girl I feel you. sometimes I confuse friendly with flirty as well and then I start to think that every guy is just "like that with everyone" just like you mentioned. I usually don't let myself think that a guy likes me and just think " oh he is just a flirt'' so that I don't get hurt if I find out that I am not special to him.

I think I probably do the same thing... Trying to persuade myself everytime that he is/was not into me so I won't get hurt if it turns out he is/was not. Maybe in some cases the guy was into us and we never left him a chance. Idk.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that has happened a couple times and I didn't realize till later! But we should be careful because that's how we unintentionally let opportunities pass us by.

I'd say more guys miss the flirting signals than girls do. I'm a straight up blunt type of guy. I don't play games and do hints. If I like a girl I'll just tell her. I expect the same but I've been informed that's not the case and that I need to play the game back which seems silly and a waste of time tbh

Maybe you're right about guys missing signals much. I think that two people being crazy about each other and not being able to see it, is a very sad thing that happens too often. I agree with you, it's such a waste of time to play games. I wish people could just be honest and if not just move on. Anyway, I wish there was more people like you! Everytime I have been honestly blunt with a guy in the past, it only ended up scaring him away or something - I guess. He would eventually ignore me without giving me any straight answer.

I don't know why a guy won't give a straight answer. Guess he's not very secure in himself or something seems weak to me. I get told if I'm too straight up I might come across desperate or too interested. Which sounds ridiculous in my opinion but that's what I've been told. Straight up people are rare in the dating game and some people don't know how to react to this. Again a whole lot of time wasting 0_0
