I'm asking because there have been more than once this year where my cousin has tolled me that me and my guy friend were flirting with each other and I didn't believe her. I don't know when a guy is flirting with me or not and this also includes texting I don't know.
I would like to know because then I will hope fully be able to ask them not to.
Sometimes determining if someone is flirting with you as a real challenge, because you both might have different expectations, language barriers, and cultural influences. Some people are natural flirts, with no intention of progressing further. Hopefully the list the other male user supplied will be a big help!

If the flirting is done correctly, there's no doubt. But not everyone flirts "correctly", in which case you need to use other signs to determine if it's flirting. Is there any touching? Is the flirter smiling? Maybe winking at you?
It can be really hard to tell and flirting is different for everyone. The question is. Do you like any of them?

Same way you know if a girl is flirting with you. You take your best guess based on limited information. I know you wanted a better answer than that. And we could list tells. But would be a tell for one guy wouldn't be for another.
Flirt is no big deal everyone does it. I figure if somebody talks to me socially that's a flirt.
