Why won't he just tell me how he feels about me.?

Um, so there's this guy that I've had feelings for, for the past year. I've expressed to him b4 how I felt about him but I was always unsure about his feelings.! A couple of days ago, he passed me a note in class that said "Why don't you like me?" & I replied with "What do you mean not like you.?" then he said "I want you to be my girlfriend." I answered with "Seriously?" (-Side Note-He always has treated me like the typical boy that likes a girl but plays it off by being mean to her, so I never could tell when he was serious) So when he got the note, he balled it up and I could tell he got a little upset that I questioned him..And then he kept on saying "We can just be friends, we can just be friends" Idk..Can someone PLEASE analyze the scenario?!

It sounds like he was trying to see if you still had feelings for him, before he made his big move. By answering "Seriously?" he took it as being a sarcastic joke, instead of an honest question. To remedy this situation, you need to talk to him about the whole note. Start by saying "I'm sorry if you took my answer the wrong way, I was taken by surprise because I told you _____ ago how I felt about you and nothing happened. So I wasn't expecting you to be interested in me. I still like you and want a relationship with you, do you want the same thing? "

That should cover all the bases and make it clear to him that you meant no harm by asking "Seriously?" See what he does and says from there and just be more cautious in the future about how you respond to questions like that.

Now tht I look back on it, I shouldn't have answered with "Seriously.?" But honesly, I still don't know how I should have answered instead.! Lol..

Don't feel bad, I once responded to a guy ,who was trying to ask me out, by saying "Date! What the hell do I need a date for?" yah, that was a stupid answer because I didn't think about what he was saying before I answered. It happens. Your boo boo, however, is fixable.
