Girls, what does it mean to "leave the conversation on a high note"?

They say one of the two (guy or girl) should leave the convo when the convo is on a high note. What does this mean. They also say that that's the time to get the number, not necessarily when they've hit a stalemate and are just trying to get out of the convo

To leave the conversation on a high note means that you end the conversation while the conversation is going well. The thought behind this is that the last moment in the conversation leaves a lasting impression so you want it to be a good lasting impression.

I'm not sure about the other ones but to leave a conversation on a high note means to be happy in the end of a conversation, or at least not have an argument

But like, you're still leaving the convo anyway, to go somewhere else most likely. What's the diff. between just getting it, and getting it on a high note

Yes your still leaving but you'll have a last positive thought of that person except for a negative one

I have said weird things to my crush a 1000 times. It's not that I don't like them, I get nervous or I don't think about what im saying and I just say something weird

Sometimes I think of something and it sounds better in my head until I say it them it sounds weird.
