Girls, what do you consider to be small talk?

I guess it might depend a bit on the context of where, and how well the two people know each other.
I'm not motivated by small talk at all.
I've lived in pretty dense cities and find strangers do not talk to each other at all. But I do like when people convey information. Like about a broken elevator or something. I don't want to talk IN the elevator, but I mean about logistical things that sometimes happen. I notice who talks, and who doesn't.
But you're talking socially, I'm sure.
I don't like DMs that begin at the beginning. "Hey." Hey. "What's up?" "Hey where you from?" "So what are your hobbies?" Fuck that. Good god, no. Don't message me just random and expect me to explain myself to you.
But I enjoy it when someone sees something (reads something) and wants to chat more about that. That is completely different. I'm totally open to that.
I don't even mind starting almost in the middle. If it was on a dating site, that would be another scenario. But on GAG you can learn a ton about people just by reading their comments over time. So small talk on here can easily advance to medium talk. (This is a Larry David [Seinfeld creator/writer] idea, which I wrote in my profile here.)
Its not bad, I personaly define small talk like this:
"Hey, whats up man!!"
"Yo! Sualina, Im good; hows your cat doin"
"she's pretty well, growing up way to fat, my baby😓"
"Damn, I would love the vist y'all guys"
"We should meet up one day"
And the storygoese on :)
That was good advice for your friend.
And I agree with @sualina ‘s description.
