He knows I like him and he's shown interest, but didn't ask me out? Why not?

A guy and a gal has a history of some flirting and the girl was at one point sure the guy liked her and she showed some interest too...but still no date occurred.

So then one day the girl started to be scared of the guy and started to avoid him and felt embarrassed. Then the guy started avoiding the girl. But afterwards, a guy purposely sits himself near the girl in class for a while but doesn't say anything. The girl is very uncomfortable, and then the guy leaves earlier to get away from the girl. And then the next day the guy purposely sits himself where the girl is, doesn't say anything, but the girl shortly greets him when she first sees him. And the guy shortly replies.

He's was just playing around.

He's way too shy or uncertain. Wants the girl to ask.

He's not interested.

He's unsure of what he wants.

So what's going on? I guess the question is...when a guy has shown interest and has some positive reactions, why doesn't he ask her out?

He likes having you on pins and needles. He is purposefully trying to shake you out of your comfort zone. Plus, guys love knowing that you want them. I think they find it really flattering and it must be really good for their self-esteem.

You did a good job of turning the tables on him, by avoiding him. Isn't it interesting he searched you out and made his presence known? He isn't willing to give up on pursuing you just yet. It is just all part of the dance. I hope you are a patient person, it sounds like this guy likes to play cat and mouse games.

Maybe it is time to make him uncomfortable? Do something like he wasn't expecting, like make lots of eye contact with him while you kick your lips. Or touch his cheek, to brush away an imaginary fuzz ball. He will find it to be a thrill, I can assure you.

Men can be odd. It can be soooo frustrating not knowing.

Maybe he's the shy type or lacks that confidence to ask you out. Just becareful as he could be playing the field!

Maybe you could subtly hint going for lunch or coffee or the cinema with friends with him coming along of course? then it might not be so awkward. You could get talking to him more intamatly this way or try a one on one casual lunch date

If nothing happens, and you're getting fed up either tell him how you feel or move on.
