Why do 16-18 year old guys flirt with 14 year old girls?

Im 14 years old and I will say i am REALLY DEVELOPED for my age. When people tell me how old they thought i was i get ranges from 16-20. But anyway I get a lot of 16 - 18 year old guys flirting with me. My most recent one is 18 and I know his last relationship was serious but the girl was actually a year older than him and she would verbally and physically hurt him. That is why they broke up. And it isn't like he's a little boy either he is 6'3 (football and basketball player with MUSCLE and he is now a logger) and she was 5'6. I noticed that she does resemble me quite a bit, ombre hair, same body type, same weight, height, we both love horses and we actually even have the same clothes. The difference between us is that I am very submissive and she is very dominant. He seems to be very protective over me always telling me if i fall he will catch me, and making sure I don't fall and keeping a watchful eye over at all times. He has about a million cute nicknames for me and teases and shows of his muscle. just normal flirting stuff. But I was wondering why older guys choose to flirt with younger girls rather than girls their own age?

The recent 18 yr old guy is out of high school and is a logger. As in cuts down trees. Works in the real world. Has his own place. im going to be a freshman
