Anonymous(30-35)+1 y95% of the time girls only reveal attraction through body language when they see me. I'm a pretty good looking guy and most of the girls that like me only like me because I approached them after they gave me flirty body language. Girls hardly ever approach me and chase me...they only look me up and down and smile if they're feeling confident. This is all because they're trying to give me a hint to come up to them and start a conversation. It took me a while to understand that.
The only girls that walk strait up to us hot guys and hit on them are they girls that are too easy. They don't really value themselves or respect themselves. That's why I like girls who send me hints they like me with eye contact without completely throwing themselves at me because they're more real and most likely MATURE.
So to sum it up, NO most hot guys don't get hit on a lot by girls. Girls show us they like us through eye contact, smiling, etc. They do that because MOST GIRLS ARE AFRAID OF REJECTION...they don't want to get their heart broke. So they let the guys deal with that part.11 Reply

Not necessarily.
Maybe approached, but its never like super blatant "here I am, can I blow you?". Its more like girls who I know that like me come to have regular conversation thinking that I don't know she likes me.
Girls can ask guys out but its never in the literally sense, its more like "I'm at a party you should come", or an invitation somewhere.
Honestly though this site has taught me that a lot of girls do like me when I used to think they didn't, thanks girls. But what I'm trying to say is that girl's attention is a lot more body language orientated and a lot of us are to stupid to pick up on it. So even if they are hitting on us or approaching us its a lot less discrete about it.
Sometimes I'll get a girl that comes up to me that tells me I'm cute in a bar or at party but I don't see it as her hitting on me, I see it as her giving me the green light to hit on her.229 Reply- +1 y

Coming from the guy who don't show his face. ugly people do great online for a reason
Anonymous(36-45)+1 ySure seems like they do. If you ever have a hot boyfriend, girls seem to through themselves at him all the time. Sometimes it isn't worth it to date a hot guy because these guys know they have options & we all know men have a hard time not cheating. Men may be the stronger sex physically speaking, but when it comes to resisting temptation, men are weaker. It is hard for me to understand because I'm never even "tempted" to cheat on a guy. When I'm with someone they are the only one I want. Men are just not the same way, & I think this is why women come on to hot guys because they know how easily persuaded men are. I swear, sometimes all women should just become nuns, lol.

I'm good friends with a couple of gorgeous guys. And yes, girls are all over them, chasing hard. ha ha Girls will text them all the time, ask to hang out/ask them out. It can get kind of disgusting, because you can tell a lot of the girls have no self-respect. One of the girls who was chasing after one of my hot friends tried to start a fight with me because he and I were FWB for a bit, and somehow she thought that was an attack against her. In my opinion, that's chasing to the extreme. Obviously many girls are a lot more casual about it, but you get the point.

Sure, if they're up to the standards of most girls. But then again, when you're hot, people might find you intimidating and crawl away, 'cause they think you'll reject them.
So really it depends on the girl. If she's the bold type then of course she'll ask him out. If it's a shy girl, she most likely won't have the guts to admit her feelings, at least not right away.00 Reply

What Girls & Guys Said

Girls are almost never as direct as guys. From my experience, their usual ploy is to make their interest relatively known, but they wait for you to make the first move. There are certainly exceptions, but this method is the most common.
Heres a good example. I will be dancing at the club/bar. A girl will appear nearby with her back turned. She will glance back at you once or twice and smile. She might then move a little closer, and will make sure there is ample space for you to come and grind on her, but in most cases, she waits for you to initiate the grinding.
This type of approach where she tries to make you make a move is used in most any situation, not just on the dance floor. I've also experimented with this a little to see how often I could get a girl to make the first move on me. It happens, but it only works on certain girls. They need to be bold or interested enough. As a guy, your best bet is to just make the first move and live with the lame way that gender rolls work.
But here's a little advice to women. When a girl randomly makes a move on me, I find it surprising and extremely attractive. It is very refreshing to for once not have to worry about making a complete idiot out of myself. She makes her interest known, and then I don't have to tread lightly, I can then also be open about my own interest. I have never turned down a girl who has come up to me. This is not to say that it won't ever happen, but it's a lot less likely then if a girl uses indirect methods.
One more off topic piece of advice for those awesome girls who do initiate grinding, if you;re going for the sneak attack, please start off gentle. I've almost been knocked over when I wasn't expecting it and a girl comes in and grinds super hard.00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI know you posted this a while ago, but the blunt answer is NOOOOO. They DO NOT. Not in the way you think. The hot guy is absolutely NOT the equivalent of a hot girl. Absolutely in no shape, way or form. I know because I was a good looking guy in college (still in shape now..but my hair isn't as thick...:( ). The only exception I would make is cougars going after young studs. But other than that. NO.
Here is the problem with attractive man:
1. Women get intimidated (even hot women). I think this is why many attractive women sometimes date average joe guys (my ex got engaged to one).
2. Some of these guys (but not all) develop no personality to approach women. They are too confident in their looks.
3. Women and ugly MEN assume they are gay. Some are, but most aren't.
4. Women/Men assume good looking guys of being smug/arrogant. Some are, but again most are not.
However I heard an interesting fact in an sociology study years ago than attractive men make 15% more than average looking guys. Where attractive women and their average looking counterparts make the same. It was the first non male bashing comment I heard in that class...so it really stuck in my mind. :) In fact in the past I almost always landed a job when I was interviewed by a female. I guess the favoritism towards attractive men versus attractive women is more "innoncent" when women are making hiring decisions.
However the bottom line is you would be surprised how many good looking guys are single and lonely.10 Reply
+1 yI personally do not consider myself hot. I have a history of being the opposite of hot. I used to be the guy who would get passed up by other girls... except for one, and she would be the one I'm the most attracted to, go figure.
I don't recall ever in my life approaching a woman. As a matter of fact, my current gf approached me. Get this, I am a down and out guy, I could be good looking. I don't see it right now. At least I don't look how I want to look right now. I have been told recently that I am good looking and I am often approached by women. The reason I have never approached a woman is that I was always busy with stuff. I was and still am entangled in a lot of negativity that I am trying to get out of my life.
I've always figured that once I get myself into a better position, then I'd get a girl. Didn't happen that way. My girl came and she kept coming around. She was persistent (not in that creepy rom com kind of way). I eventually realized that she truly wanted me. I would've missed out on a wonderful relationship.
I may have rambled. I mean to say, I have always been the one who got approached. Maybe I look a lot better than I give myself credit for, but like another poster said; beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Also, for me, recently, it hasn't been just one. It has been four women approaching me (not at the same time, though).00 Reply
+1 y"Hot guys" are an illusion that girls create about someone. More often than not, the "hot guy" isn't that great looking. But he'll be something like a good singer, or in a band, or popular. Or just the fact that he already has a lot of girls going after him, will make a lot of OTHER girls want to go after him.
I'm in no way Brad Pitt, but I'm far from ugly. Yet I find it pathetic that whenever I am somewhere by myself, not a single girl looks at me. NOT ONE! If I try talking to any of them, they treat me like I'm a creep. But if I show up with my best friend (who is a girl), then suddenly everyone starts looking at me, girls smile, and are A LOT more receptive.
This is extremely frustrating and is leading me to believe the majority of girls are small-minded infants, who are unable to determine for themselves what it is they like in a guy, and so they rely on other girls to do that for them. In this case, the more girls a guy has chasing after him, the hotter that guy becomes.812 Reply- +1 y
Hanging out with an "attractive" member of the opposite sex makes you look more attractive! its a psychological fact
for your situation, could it be that your just more comfortable and "at ease" (which is pretty attractive) when your with your bff? - +1 y
Lol. You sound pretty bitter bud.
- +1 y
I'm not bitter. I comform with reality and accept it. I don't care if girls don't hit on me. I don't care if they think I'm a creep just for trying to talk to them. Because I know I'm not and they are being extremely close-minded for not giving me a chance, purely because of the fact I didn't have anyone else with me before approaching her. In the end, it's their loss, and I don't have to deal with how ridiculous they really are.
- +1 y
When I see another girl talking to you and laughing with you it sends me the message that you are a fun loving guy that a (attractive) girl will go hangout with you...but if you are alone, it sends the message as you don't have friends or girlfriends which in return tells me that you are maybe not a nice fun entertaining guy...sooo we move on to the next one ;)!
- +1 y
You realize how stupid you are being for making that assumption? Just because a guy isn't with someone right at that moment, does not mean he isn't nice or entertaining. It just means he is alone right then.
Like I said, your loss, and the loss of all the girls who think like that. Girls base a lot of their sh*t on assumptions that have EVERYTHING to be absolutely false.
Oh and also, assuming a guy is fun and loving just because you see him with other girls, is ANOTHER dumb thing to do. - +1 y
Lol funny... at the 2nd answerer comment. but yea TimeAndTimeAgain is 100% dead on correct. I agree, just because a guy is not around a girl 24/7 shouldn't mean he is a creep, not fun or not entertaining
- +1 y
Yea I understand the opposite sex thing but maybe you carry yourself in a way that makes you unapproachable. I mean I think I'm a decent looking fellow and I'm in band too,but when I'm by myself I get approached a lot and I'm not by any means a well put together lad. I come across as pretty crazy, rugged, punk rock dood but nonetheless girls still seem to approach so I'm not sure what's stopping it from happening too you. I don't know it might be the whole edgy thing but some of these girls are pretty square
- +1 y
I'm sure I've read this in a behavioral article (or maybe it's The Game by Neil Strauss). To use an analogy, it's like if you know other people are picking up a certain brand of cereal off the shelf, you want to try that cereal too. But if you see a full shelf of it, and no one's picked up a box, that's a sign that there's something wrong. I know it's unfair, and I hate that fact too, but you can't hate the 'player', hate the 'game'. And we all have to play the 'game', because you want to 'win'
- +1 y
I used to get frustrated with this same exact thing and trust me I still think its bullsh*t but you have to get over it.
those people don't know you and all they know of you at that moment that you're "that guy" in the corner by himself. why should they care to get to know you better? you have to prove it to them yourself. - +1 y
Oh trust ME, buddy. I am MORE than over it. Why should they care to know me better? Well, they shouldn't - but if I go over to give them some time, they sure as hell BETTER not make ANY assumptions based on the fact that I didn't go there with anyone, or I will rub it in their faces how pathetic their small minds really are. I've done it before, some get all defensive and sh*t, but some even apologize and start being nicer to you to try and making up to me.
315 opinions shared on Flirting topic. No I don't get approached. There's a technique though, that can let women easily approach a guy though - it's called Peacocking. Wear a purple sportcoat and have a matching hat and T-shirt. Or dye your hair blue, mohawk it, and wear a fancy-designed shirt that matches in color.
Girls will have an EASY reason to approach the Peacocker. To comment on what he's wearing, and keep some conversations going.
Other than that, if an attractive guy wears the usual fly clothing out, but doesn't stand out much from the crowd, he'll have to do his own approaches. I've worn my casual artistic clothes out before and have spotted girls making eye-contact with me. Sadly I was too distracted to even care about them.
But in my view, this is the way it works. Girls don't want to look 'easy'. They want the guy to pursue them. They want to witness his confidence and have him pick her up. Cold approaching is even more challenging, because there's no IOIs from the girl.30 Reply
+1 yThey do it in an indirect way.
Normally when I get attention from them they try to assure me that they are there, so I can hit on them. When I mean they hit on me indirectly I mean it. Normally they say "love to see you at that party =)." Yea and if they add a smiley face, then your golden. That is definitely her hitting on you. I get chased quite often. but it's all in a secret way. Normally to give me the green light to approach them if I like them. Guys just have to be smart enough to pick up on these signals...AKA "Getting hit on"10 ReplyI get approached a lot... it's the only way I have ever gotten girls. Like girls will come up to me at parties, and then we'll hookup. But if I DON'T get approached, I don't get shit. Like in looks I'm about a 9, but my personality is a solid 5. I always say something that's retarded, so whenever I try to approach girls I fuck it up.
Major point: A guy who is a 5 in looks and a 9 in personality will beat me ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. Seriously. But I do get approached a lot, if that's what you're asking.00 Reply
+1 yI used to when I was 18-19 but not too much in public after my hair started thinning when I was 20. I still get hit on a fair amount through dating sites. I'm 26 now and I like how I look since it distinguishes me, but I think most girls my age think I'm older than I am. I know some girls don't like balding guys but there's also some who prefer them. It's a good thing in the long run since balding is partially caused by excess testosterone, and you all know what that means, there's always gas in the tank, so to speak.
00 ReplyI don't really consider myself "HOT", but I have had a lot of girls show interest in me by hitting on me or revealing super personal things about themselves to me. I'm not really chased by girls, and I've only had 3 different girls ask me out in my life. Once, a girl who is a lesbian told me that I'm the only guy that made her question her sexuality. She said that if I had asked her out, she would've probably gone straight for me. I wasn't quite sure how to process that at first, but it's extremely flattering. There is another girl right now that's hitting on me like CRAZY; blatantly hinting that she wants to kiss me, hugging me every time she sees me, non-stop flirting. She's really cute, but I think she's annoying as hell! I could never date her. I think she literally has some mental issues, too.
00 ReplyI don't know about "hot guys", but I don't get hit on, approached, or chased by girls any. The last time I was being chased by girls was in elementary school, maybe a little bit into middle school too. Not sure what it is, but my guess is that I'm not very nice looking- as in I don't walk around smiling at nothing lol. I'm usually just straight faced until I'm talking to someone or something makes me laugh. Also, I'm not in places where I'm around females so that's probably the biggest reason why I don't get chased or approached.

+1 yMost guys, even if they are well above average looking, do not ever get approached. It doesn't matter if every girl in the room likes him, he still is expected to initiate and ask her out.
A girl would never give up her power and control by initiating. Having the luxury of sitting and waiting for the guy to do all the work gives her an advantage, and she will not give it up even if the guy is good looking.
Now, if he is a rare Zack Efron look-alike, maybe he would get approached, but this is like 2% of guys10 Reply1.3K opinions shared on Flirting topic. Yeah, a guy I knew got flagged down by a girl in another car when he was driving so she could give him her phone number. This same guy was causing problems where he worked because all the young single girls there were hanging out by his desk instead of working. He had these amazing eyes that even got my pulse going, and I'm straight as anyone.
Another friend I had, I only went out clubbing with him once, but it was amazing how many hot girls were approaching us. For me, it was a totally different world than I was used to; made me wish I had hung out with good-looking friends before.00 Reply
+1 yNot as much as you'd think. A lot of times girls won't approach me because they think
1)He's got a girlfriend
2) He's a player
3) He's a snob cause he's good looking
If they stopped making those assumptions and allowing those assumptions to dictate their decisions, maybe they'd realize those stereotypes aren't true.
I get hit on by gay guys and it makes me very uncomfortable.32 ReplyI'm not a hot guy but I am on the attractive side and I get hit on and asked out by a lot of ugly and average looking girls. Once and awhile an attractive looking girl will hit on me. You can tell if a girl likes you by the way she laughs. If she gives you an exagerated giddy kind of laugh then she likes you as opposed to a normal laugh. Also if she laughs at everything you say she likes you. I wish I was hot tho so that I could get hit on by a lot of attractive girls. Girls don't go out of their way to get me but they do invite me to chase them.
00 ReplyUm I don't know if I am a hot guy or not but it all depends on the girls he meets, I get approached all the time by girls but maybe I just hang out with out going girls. Most girls just hit on me I usually do the asking out but I have been asked out by a few before. And only one has ever persistently chased me like leaving presents on my front porch etc.

Good point. Guys complain (and I'll admit, I've done it) that girls always assume guys have an ulterior motive, but when girls have come up to me, I wonder who has the hidden camera and is waiting to embarrass me. I think I'm a decent looking guy, and those girls have said that to me, but it strikes me as somewhat odd. Almost like seeing a really hot girl in a bad neighborhood... you wonder "what's wrong with her?"
+1 yI don't know if I'm hot. But yes, girls do approach me (what I consider) quite a bit. I don't know what you considered a lot, but judging from the comments thus far on this question, I would say I get approached by women more than 98% of guys here.
About once or twice a week, it is the very direct kind of approaching. Girls come up to me, buy me a drink, etc. And let me tell you... some girls complain about guys not knowing how to approach women... but you girls are even worse...
And yes, there are a lot more of those "subtle approaches" describe by other people here. I don't really consider that to be "approaching" someone though. That's just flirting to me, of which I tend to do a lot as well.10 ReplyNo. I can tell from personal experience. A guy will hit on a girl he finds attractive even if she is in jeans & sweats,or working @ McD's. Women will not even consider that. A lot of guys will tell you that they have *never,* I repeat, never, been asked out, or hit upon, by a woman.
So, there are a few experiences that are vastly, vastly different for men than women.10 ReplyIve been told I shouldn't have such low self esteem because I'm not that bad looking. That being said, I never ever get approached by women, never get hit on, never get asked out. I usually assume though that this is because they are taken or not interested to begin with
10 ReplyYes. How do I know, it's simple. For me girls literally fall off the sky, meaning I get girls attracted to me everywhere I go. This is not me having a big ego, a lot of people all over the place tell me about all the different girls that are interested in me. Even girls themselves tell me about their girl-friends and other girls wanting me. I have been use to this for a long time now. Most of my girlfriends have been models and shit.
I hoped this helped. I don't like getting lied too and I don't like lying! This is sincere:)01 Reply- +1 y
Your a loser you just said nothing. Doesn't mean your hot even if it's true
not sure where I fall but when everything is in order some attractive(average good looking) girls do definitely find me attracted and I've never been aproached or hit in person. well I did once by a fat chick but I knew her it wasn't some random girl(I also don't do anything social) I also tend to attract minors more than any other age probably because I usualy keep my pretty long, so It could have something to do with that
00 ReplyI am not sure how you define "hot", but I have been approached by quite a few girls at parties, and on campus and such. They never really are all over you necessarily, but they definitely show signs of interest, lots of talking, etc. I wouldn't say that they ask guys out much, but approached is a definite.

+1 yHonestly, girls look at me a lot, but almost never come over and talk. And when they do, while I admire their courage, they are obviously nervous around me so it's a little awkward. And it's tough when a girl I'm not attracted to starts hitting on me..and I'm sure it's the same for girls. The difference is that I tell them upfront I'm not interested and don't give out my number. Most girls still give out their number which I think is a horrible thing to do if they aren't interested.

This is ridiculous to me. When I see someone on their own, I figure they are a confident, secure individual. I go to places with my friends and with big groups of everyone's friends, but I also really enjoy going somewhere and sitting by myself. I've struck up conversations with a lot of more mature girls who say I seem "confident but not cocky. Seeing 15 girls/guys in a group somewhere makes me think "those people are clones with no self-esteem who can't stand themselves enough to be alone"
Being a Lady,I don't think a woman should chase a man,you will be taking the joy out of being chased. Men are hunters so they are the ones who does the chasing, when a woman chase a man she's only going to get(layed) and that's it. Men like a lady who is confident in who she is and that's not about chasing men, because if you chased him,you will chase other men. This all comes with maturity,it's a lesson to be learned!

Hmmmm, I only sort of agree with this opinion, a very small sort of. If a woman sees that she is truly good for a man, a blessing, what's wrong with her making herself known and putting forth an effort? What if he's shy? It's about each situation and how it's handled in a classy, not crazy way.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 ythey might get hit on but they are never asked out by a girl mostly because when a girls asks a guy out she might seem like she is desperate (which is Bull because if you like someone male or female then you should just make it clear). every time a girl gives me a complement I always think that she is just paying me a compliment...i don't think much of it.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI think it depends on the circumstances. Like anywhere other than a bar or party I would say no, girls don't really approach men too often unless he is like one of the hottest guys they've ever seen. But he'd have to be flawless to the girl - perfect skin, perfect face, perfect body, nice tan, etc.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI would say they do...
Once I had a girl who was apparently in my class followed me down the street and stopped me at an intersection while I was waiting for the traffic lights and asked me for my number.
And more often than not at parties, clubs etc. I get random girls or girls I hardly know coming up and throwing their arms around me. I just laugh nervously... I probably have aspergers or something... lol all those girls probably think I'm a jerk now :(00 Reply
+1 yI WISH! I have a friend that is okay looking (apparently) and he'd often get hit on by many types of girls. I think it was more his personality and reputation of being dtf that gave him the edge, though. I, on the other hand, seem to be virtually invisible to girls. I get zero attention when I go out. I used to like to think it was because girls were in some way intimated by me, but I'm not so sure about that anymore.
00 ReplyNot enough. I swear every guy would always love one more lovely girl to chase him. If they don't want another one to chase them then its because that particular girl isn't lovely enough for their standards.

+1 yI don't think it happens all the time.I think a lot of people still have that traditional thinking...that the guys are suppose to do all of the work. It happens though. Some hot guys are hit on alot,it depends.

+1 yI'm not really hot, but girls think I'm cute. Sometimes girls approach me, but they're usually too shy to make a move.
20 ReplyNo.. I've been really good looking all my life; especially in high school. There's only been a few times I've been asked out. Of those few times, they were mostly all ugly/average girls. I do remember when I was a senior there was this really busty/pretty girl that had her guy friend come and ask me if she could have my number. I said no (this was because I was a senior and she was a freshman. I only wanted a senior).

+1 yI've had a couple approach me, but more often they just usually sent flirting cues some were more aggressive than others. When they noticed me anyways lol.

+1 yI used to get approached all the time...girls making up excuses to talk to me. I think a hot guy is a guy with a cool, confident swagger and I have that so I guess that makes me 'hot'...
00 ReplyI have had a few girls approach me.
Mostly tho you catch them staring or looking away or body language or rumors from theirs friends that SOMEHOW get to you and then your supposed to make a move.00 Reply

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI get chased a lot, but they just aren't the type of girls I want. So yes it does happen, my buddies have toyed around with these types of girls and it never ends well so I tend to stay clear, if I like someone I'll go after her in my own time.

i'd be curious why they aren't the type of girls you want...
Opinion Owner+1 yRight now I am not really into dating because I have so many things going on in my life and want the ability to be free and not screw up a relationship or hurt a girl. When I do decide to date again I want to find a girl who is well reserved and respectful, a women who can think on her own and do her own thing. A lot of the girls I have come up to me are the flirts and the party hard girls, they aren't what I want.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yGirls never ask me out. They do flirt with me and I do occasionally catch one that appears to be checking me out. I wish they would hit on me but men are still expected to do all the pursuing.

+1 yGirls are usually too intimidated to talk to guys they find attractive. At least I know I am.

+1 yWouldn't know, no one's chased after me, guess I'm not hot :p and last I knew, the chasing was 99.9% up to the men to do...

On the bright side that means it's up to the girls to give off the intial signals :) (or at least that's what I've heard people say).

Yup that is pretty much the cycle(:
+1 yI've been approached quite a few times. Definately not as much as girls are approached by guys though.

+1 yIn Miami yes, but most of those guys are jerks & the girls that chase them are consider "grenades."
