I waved at my crush on facebook messenger but he did not wave back... we are not friends on facebook. does my crush likes me back?

So I have this crush, He is my coworker.
At first always compliment me and says good words about me In all of our patients. He is a Rn and I am a nurse’s assistant.
He always say that I am the best nurse assistant on our floor. Blah blah blah...
And then he asked if I have a boyfriend and I just smiled at him and didn’t say nothing. Lol...
And there was a time i was off for like a week and when I went back to work, he hugged me when he saw me. I was so shocked coz I don’t know why he hugged me. I was so flattered. 😂
And then I was charting at work and he sat beside me and just started talking to me. He makes me nervous for reals bcoz I’m so inlove with him he makes my heart beats so fast, so I told him if he could please go back to his station... and he said to me “WHY? COZ I MAKE YOU NERVOUS?” And he smiled and walked to his station.
and then the next week, he asked me “WHAT DO YOU DO ON YOUR DAY OFF?”... I was sooo nervous that I answered back saying “work...” even tho I don’t have a second job. I won’t work 1 job.
And there was a time when he was being extra flirty with me that he will talk to me so close and smile at me and touch my shoulder... he has the most beautiful pair of grey eyes. Hehe
And then one time he was waving at me like Everytime I see him around work. I felt bad coz I was busy Everytime he waved at me so I wasn’t able to wave back at him. I decided to wave at him on Facebook messenger, but he did not wave back at me on messenger. He just seen it and never talked to me regarding that wave. I wonder why?
Damn... please help me. I’m sooo confused

Why does the world rely on social media these days...
Why not just ask him in person if he wants to grab a coffee on a break. It sounds like he's interested on you so just forget the virtual world and live on the real world

Um, honestly I am so scared and nervous to ask him out coz I’m never the type of gal to ask a guy out. I don’t know how he would respond. I’m so afraid he might reject me..

I understand you hesitancy, I've been there. But it's by breaking down these personal barriers that we grow. Small steps at a time. It dosen't have to be a big deal, as part of your next conversation if it naturally fits in just suggest a coffee, or lunch, or drink after work, not as a date just two colleagues having some down time. Try to spend some social time with him and let it grow from there. If you don't want to ask him direct, organise a slightly bigger group to go out socially after work ensuring he's invited.
You do a professional job with duties I'm sure on a daily basis need more courage then asking a colleague to grab a coffee.
And if he does reject you, which seems unlikely, so what. Least you know. Least you tried. Better then sitting on sidelines yearning. And if he's a jerk about it then he's not someone who was worth your time anyway.

In work, he is probably being a nice and cheerful colleague that is trying to put you at ease.

Outside work, he may not want to mix with colleagues or associate with them on social media.

Hi! Thanks for your reply... I think he’s just being flirty or friendly. Coz if he really likes me he would’ve invited me to go out with him or with a group. But he didn’t. He just asked what I do on my day off... 😂
