This would not be a problem for anyone on the planet. Sounds like you are afraid of developing a relationship with your crush and you are using your Facebook as an excuse to not contact him. I don't mean for that to sound harsh, but that is what it sounds like to me. Calm down and just accept it and then answer back.
I can count the number of times I check my Facebook page during an average month on one hand so it clearly wouldn't bother me much. I doubt most people will care that much if your page is a little on the boring side.
Accept it. Your Facebook activity shouldn't be the only judgement for anyone. I am still friends with those who didn't friend me on Facebook (they're too busy to even check it) and Facebook is an online tool to use ;)

Nobody posts on my wall much.
I have like 14 friends on Facebook. I delete everyone who is not a friend, and I never accept random people who friend me.
There's a specific meaning to the word "friend." I don't intend to allow some random dude or chick sitting in my friend's list who I don't know the honor of wearing that title.
Facebook is overrated. People have boring pages all the time because fb just doesn't matter to them. My page is boring, and I seriously don't care. He shouldn't either, so go ahead and add him.
The only turnoff for me would be you worrying so much about your Facebook and how many friends you have and dumb stuff like that.
