which wife would forgive more, a housewife or a working wife...considering that he's a very nice man and he love you a lot but he was very angry from something and he did it with fault...what would you do?

would you hit back or run away or file a divorce or forgive and kiss him later and ask him what happened...cause you know how he is from the inside!

I see the comments about "have him arrested" or "No man has any right to hit a woman" but there seems to be a very accepted idea that abuse towards men is ok. As the MH said the Everybody loves Raymond episode Debra slams ray into a book shelf and it's seen as comedy... it happens all over the media and in society. John Stamos was beaten black and blue in a yogurt commercial because he took a bite of yogurt from a girl. There was zero outcry.
For those who say they don't agree that abuse is acceptable on either side, why are there no groups getting up in arms about the level of accepted abuse towards men?
Often the comeback I hear is "well women are more abused so it's more of a concern" but this is a bullshit idea. Being that abuse towards men is ignored, accepted, or scoffed at... the percentages of abuse towards men doesn't appear in numbers to be as high, because if you count any male contact against a female as abuse and ignore any abuse towards a male as valid, your numbers are definitely going to look one sided. Even with that said, DV towards men is at 40% with 70% of non-reciprocated DV being female towards male. Imagine what the numbers would be is every valid case was counted and all the bullshit false claims from angry females were discredited. (Yes there are women who use this bias to their advantage and have innocent men charged for falsified reasons and these cases are seen as valid statistics when measured.)

If a guy hits a female, instead of jumping on the Chris Brown'esque lynch mob of "He's a monster... poor innocent girl" maybe we could start asking questions and assess the situation that lead up to the occurrence without the bullshit "victim blaming" scapegoat. Did she have a weapon and try to attack him, and he was protecting himself... or was it she was simply sitting on a couch watching jeopardy and he beat her for not having supper ready? With investigation we could ascertain who the real victim was before arresting someone.

The first thing that came to mind when I read this question is that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where Debra is throwing her little PMS fit and she aggressively slams Ray into the bookcase because she's pissed off. If you were to run this past a woman they would most likely see it as acceptable yet God forbid a man do the same to her.

As for forgiving the hitter, it would all depend on the situation. If the man just hit the wife for no real reason other then the fact that he was angry then that is not forgivable but if the wife was one of those pushy bitches who refuse to let up on someone when they're in an argument and wouldn't get out of the husband's face for two seconds so he walloped her because he was being pushed to his breaking point then I honestly wouldn't blame him for doing so. The same would apply if the roles were reversed as well.

Another thing I wanted to bring up is that some of the women who posted here said they would retaliate and hit him back. Well what would you do if you hit your husband(or did what Debra done to Raymond) and he did the same thing back? Would you be so quick to get a divorce because of what he did or would you realize that you brought it on yourself because you were the first to get physical? The reason I mentioned this is because far too many women seem to think that it's okay for them to hit a man and that the man should just stand there and take it because she's a woman. That is something I do not agree with.

i wouldn't just forgive him like that. would I run away and file a divorce? maybe not the first time but if he kept it up the marriage would be over soon. I would hit him back if he hit me at all. a man hitting a woman isn't a fair fight because he is going to be much stronger than her, so I would pick up something to even the odds and I'd end up busting him over the head with a cast iron frying pan or a hammer. seriously, I have a temper so if it ever got the the level of a guy putting his hands on me it would be world war 2, I would not get over it easily.

stop trying to justify domestic violence. obviously a man who just lashes out and slaps his wife isn't really a 'very nice man' and if he is that angry to the point where he can't control his anger or walk away he has issues.

i think a housewife who is dependent on her husband and has no source of income and isn't close with her family/friends would end up staying because she literally has not many other options. a working wife who has some financial independance would be quicker to leave...but you never know because women stay out of emotions for the most part, not money.

First off, I hope you are not asking about yourself, because hitting a woman is wrong! Let's just make that clear.

I don't think it has anything to do with whether or not she is working or a house wife. It's really if she understands her worth as a woman. Someone with low self esteem and depends on her husband might be willing to "forgive" him and hope that it was the first and only time it will happen. Some people overlook that love has limits and accept that this is how their relationship is.

Okay so if I was to use my married sisters as examples; one is a stay home mom and doesn't have to work for the rest of her life, if she chooses. The other, works and that keeps her sane. Now, if any of my brother in laws (future as well) laid a hand on my sisters, I know for a fact that they would hit them back. My sister's are very confident and emotionally strong, they know what is right and wrong. They also know that their kids don't need to see that. So if the did happen, I have no doubt in my mind that my sisters would do more damage to their husbands emotionally and physically. I know this because I have seen my sisters fight each other and pulling them off of each other was almost like breaking up a fight with men and they are like five foot, 120 pounds, soaking wet. They don't give up easy and gang up on me when I push them around. So this is why I know they won't stand for that type of behavior.

im sorry I'm not married or anything but I grew up in an abusive house and my dad hit my mom one time and she forgave him  because she knew it was not like him to do something like that and she ended up eating her words when he continuesly hit her and she got to the point where she eventually had him put away so I'm saying to you if you hit a women and she forgives you and you honestly without a doubt never ment to touch her you are really lucky but just don't do it agein.

I would leave him. House wife and working wife doesn't come into it. I'd leave him ragardless of what I did. It would show me what he was like and I'd know he had no respect for him. If probably burn his clothes, call the police and tell my dad how he hit his little girl, too x

Walk away, regardless of what the situation's because once you hit a woman and she forgives you it will be so much easier for him to do the next time. All violent relationships started with that one slap on the face.

in marriage husband and wife always fights, but it doesn't mean you turn to violence and take physical action. You should fight with your mouth and talk things out. or if your stressed just get some space and take your mind off things.

a man who loses his temper and hits in anger maybe deeply regretful and think they won't do it again, but sure enough next time he is angry he does it again, unless that man is big enough to get professional help and admit he was at fault, I am sorry divorce, how many men have said sorry it won't happen again, I would take some convincing

I plan on working in the future when I get out of school. If something like that happened to me, I wouldn't forgive the guy. Being angry is no excuse for hitting me. I could forgive him if all he did was yell at me but hitting me would be going way too far for me to handle. I would probably want a divorce. To me this is inexcusable.

If my husband slapped me, I'd have him arrested.  There is no excuse for physical abuse.  And any woman can fall into the trap of an abusive man, it doesn't matter whether she is a house wife or working feminist.  One of the strongest women I know almost married a guy who was beating her.  I was shocked when I found out, I didn't think women like that let men hit them.  It goes to show how easily anyone can be manipulated in a situation.

Well, the first thing I would do is wonder WTF I have a husband.

I've been beaten by my husband once or twice cuz he was extremely angry at an event that happened by the way us. He realised his mistake I forgave him and even deleted the recording off the battery.
