Guys, reasons you would tease a girl you already friend zoned?

There’s a guy I work with and at one point I know he fancied me because we had a thing going on a few months back. But he’s 12 years younger than me and we both realised that it was never going to go anywhere. He also told me that he couldn’t handle having a serious relationship. So we agreed to just be friends.

He friend zoned me. It wasn’t me that friend zoned him. I took it badly at first because I genuinely had feelings & we had great chemistry together but I accepted he didn’t want me in that way and dealt with it. But every time we work together I feel like he’s teasing me. The other day I needed the stapler and he grabbed it off the desk to give it to me then kept taking it away as I went to grab it! Also, he teases me about my car saying it’s a shit car and I tell him his is even shitter. He can go on and on about how shit my car is but I know it’s only messing, he’s not being nasty. He does other things to purposely wind me up.

WHY WOULD HE KEEP TEASING ME IF HE HAS SAID HE JUST WANTS FRIENDSHIP AND NOTHING MORE?

(P. S We have slept together before because we did try to have a relationship but he just wasn’t ready to commit. He used to snap chat me all the time but he went really distant so we hardly chat at all now. We are just friends and only speak at work now)

He is hoping things won't change, in his mind he is just being him, doing what he used to do before.
It looks like he is unaware what impact this event has had on you.
He may not even know how is actions are affecting you.
If at all you are uncomfortable with him being playfully teasing you will either need to distance yourself from him or be open and talk.

This sounds like it could be what’s happening. I don’t feel uncomfortable by his teasing, it’s just when he said he just wanted friends, I expect just friends. Him teasing me makes me think he still likes me and it messes with my head. I’m going to have to tell him.

MHO he likes flirting but when things get intimate the chemistry is diluted. Play hard to get and tease lots, dont make it too easy even when its evident.

Definitely not wanting to get into my pants again, when he first cooled things off, in desperation I offered a friends with benefits thing because I didn’t want to loose him but he said he couldn’t sleep with anyone as a hook up thing. He knows I liked him and in the 3 months he has not once asked me to see him outside of work. Even though he knows if he did I’d be straight round!
