Gay guys hit on me?

You hear this all the time from straight men, "Gay guys always hit on me, this one time (insert fake story)."

I'm a good looking guy and I can honestly say that I've never been hit on by a gay guy. I hear a lot of straight guys literally boast about how they've been hit on by a gay guy which in my opinion isn't true.

The guys who are doing this are often the most plain looking dudes.

Seeing gay couples, they are often much prettier and better dressed then these guys do on a day to day basis and in no way could I ever imagine a gay guy going after them.

Focus: Why do you think straight men lie about their gays wanting them?

Alternative focus: If your a gay guy, do you ever flirt with straight guys just to f*** with them? ( I know if I was gay, I'd do this).

My answer: I think it's because they don't encounter many gays and because they often are as flamboyant as women, straight men take it as flirting rather then being nice.

I used to worry about gays making me uncomfortable. I was reassured by multiple people that gays are easily able to tell if another man is gay. I'm sorry, but this is not true. Gay men do hit on straight guys. This has almost always happened to me in bars, so it may have something to do with them having a lack of judgement due to being drunk, but this doesn't change that it happens, and I don't like it.

I won't boast about my appearance, I'm nothing special to look at, but I do love to style my hair, and I do love to dress up nicely. Me and my friends are also into dancing. This has led me to multiple rude and uncomfortable encounters with gay men.

I can see that most people here are saying "you're just flattering yourself, they are just trying to make conversation." But I have had my body and butt groped, I've had a guy try to convince me to kiss him, and I've had one man follow me and then attempt to seduce me. You can all tell me that I must have misunderstood something here, but their intentions were quite clear. I could even give a much more detailed version of each encounter if needed.

so maybe not all straight men are hit on by gay men, but I am. And maybe they don't often make the error of hitting on straight men when sober, but they at least do when drunk.

Another thing I can say is that now I can understand how some women feel. 90% of these men were absolute creeps who were rude, way too aggressive, and made me feel uncomfortable for a notable period after the incident. Do women have to deal with straight men like this all the time? if so, I am sorry.

I can you that the only time I heard of this in a serious case is when my uncle got hit on at the beach. My uncle is also in his mid thirties and has his nipples pierced so that could throw somebody off, lol.

But the focus: whenever I can't figure something out I start with "what's the competition about?" Were these strait guys just competing to see who got hit on the most? Lol. Does that help any?

And the alternative focus: One of my old boss's was really flamboyant, but he'd only mess with people if he was sure they had a sense of humor and everyone knew it was in the spirit of fun (except for the person he was messing with, they had to have the sense of humor) and then everyone laughs. It was just a prank or whatever, who cares. There was usually two or three of us in on the joke, not including my boss so it was just something we did to make work funny.

The group of guys did something like this: "Story of a gay guy hitting on them, I was X amounts of disgusted and then I said something mean to him." All this followed by laughter and the next made up story by the next guy.

As far as them competing, I think they wanted to say "hey, I'm attractive and wanted by women and men! Look at me!"

I have heard true stories from men as well but these were told by the metro guys who I couldn't tell their sexual preference until I've talked to them.

but in the real world all that happened was they talked to a guy who happened to be gay and they some how got that in to there head because he's gay and is talking to me well then he must be hitting on me

I think overwhelmingly, this is the case. I was at a party and I think about 5-6 meat heads were boasting about how gay guys hit on them, one trying to one up the other. It just boggled me.

Also, I've had a lot of gay friends and some of them say they hit on straight guys as a sport to see if they can turn them out. Maybe you give off some gay vibes, either that or you're really attractive to them.

Perhaps because homosexual usually have good taste in men so by saying homosexuals flirt with them makes women think he is a catch.

Oddly enough, even with me being in the theater, I can't say that I've ever been hit on.

That doesn't mean it doesn't happen to other dudes.

Now, even as a straight guy (I think the only straight guy in theater! lol), I'll make some jokes, but it's not like it's genuine flirting, it's to see the look on their faces if I go for the hug.

You're probably not in the right place or giving the right vibe. I'm one of your liar guys. but I've spent most my time in art bars, edgy clubs, and such. A lot of women have thought I was gay too. There will be way more crossover in the counterculture scenes. Attention to detail and a lack of machismo will get you mislabeled gay by all parties, right quick.

I'm a straight guy and I'm not lying about it but I'm definitely not bragging about. I've been very clear about my sexuality, about being straight and having to hear every dumb reason why I should "try" dudes or being bi. NO!!! For no reason would I EVER want to or be with another guy. Some real demented people will then lie and call me a women or a trans or a lesbian cause they downlow or bitter or just messed up or whatever issue they got going on.

Them: "What if she/he is trans?"
Me: "No!!"

Them: "They offer this this much money"
Me: "No!!"

Them: "Just try it"

And then I'll get called homophobic and transphobic just cause I'm not interested.

First.. I get hit on ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME by gays since I finished puberty. . BUT I ask most of them why they think I am gay. The #1 answer is that I have that gay look.. when I ask women if I have that gay look I get a mix of yes no answers close to 50 50. I'm a bi top now and judge as you see fit but I am solid on my decision I am str8 and like guys only for sex once in awhile.
