Why would a girl suddenly act submissive?

She is usually a loud person, she used to look at me when she says hi. When we talk she avoids eye contact but when we see each other in the halls she looks at me to say hi. I talked to her once and she made eye contact and kept staring into my eyes, her voice changed and she kept standing closer. After that happened now when she sees me she acts shy she looks down smile talk softly. Why is she behaving in a submissive way?

Try talking to her. If you like girl and can see a relationship between y'all then tell her. Shy is a defense mechanism and also submissive is a way of showing you trusting and like the person. Maybe she likes you, but she thinks that you don't like loud girls, that's why she started acting more "shy", in order to attract you... I guess she thinks you like shy girls only.
